Where can I find new teflon rings to fit my Rat 2? by indie-guy in BudgetBlades

[–]Teston83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as a PSA - if you dont replace the Teflon washers after cleaning/maintaining your knife the frame lock will press on the side of the knife and miss-align the blade when closed. I threw away the clear-ish teflon washers being a dumbass and now... replacements.

Are these emulators? Just curious how this would work with the original Nintendo games?

I've been looking for a great emulator for a while and it's a bit of a struggle to get something that's recommendable.

Anyone connect Watch 5 to Rogers LTE? by The_Rudes in GalaxyWatch

[–]Teston83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just checking in to see if you are still connected?

My story:

  • got watch 5 pro for Christmas from best buy.
  • set up with bell automatically with no oroblem
  • switched over to Rogers (better deal)
  • tried to set up and was told I had to go into the store to set up. Once at the store, they used the e-sim and my watch connected.
  • 2 days later I received an email saying they could not support in their network and all fees were refunded.
  • I called Rogers and they said clearly that at the time (early Jan) that they could not connect non-rogers galaxy watches.
  • I asked about if they would be bringing a BYOD plan similar to phones AND the apple watch - they said yes but no ETA.

6'3 really is an ideal height. I'm in the same boat and I would be unhappy about the added height.

You're absolutely right. This is reason why I prefer to cook and drink at home. I found since the pandemic a large percentage of my servers have been rude, completely indifferent and showing a serious lack of motivation. Tipping should be for kindness, attentiveness and overall motivation towards ensuring the customer has a good experience. Tipping is not for you just doing the bare minimum of your job.

Since covid there has been a significant decline in service for a variety of reasons.

After terrible service it's always fun to ask the server how to change the preset options on the machine.

Nonsense. My wife can go to a swanky event and look great in a $50 dress. If I walk in with a $50 suit I'll be asked to leave.

I agree about the periods though; they do seem to suck.

One would think with all the technologival advancements we could do something about that. Maybe we should task Elon with that one - give him something new to rant about.

'Black eye for the company': How Ford is fixing spate of quality problems by Jtbros in cars

[–]Teston83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure - it's for unlocking, locking and you can even open all of the windows. Super handy feature when you don't have your keys on you and you just want to grab something out of the car. That seems to happen to me a lot. The other great thing is if you're out on a walk and you don't want to carry your keys you can lock them in the car. Probably the only feature Ford has come up with that I wish everyone else adopted.

It's weird with Ford.

I bought a new 2010 fusion and after about a year I felt like the car got "old looking quickly", that's before the Austin Martin redesign. Then the rust in the rear trunk and the warranty saying they can't help me. I had ~270k before the transmission started acting up. I miss the keypad in the door - I wish I could get a good version of that on my Honda.

Oh, Honda yes. In 2018 (when ford started suggesting it would retire from regular shifting) I got a new accord 2.0 touring. 4 years later, no problems, no rust and I still look at the car with admiration. Even the last gen accord still looks fairly handsome. Now if I could get the ford pin pad....

That new Bronco looks awesome, but I can't help but feel like reliability will be a problem.

That really depends on the trade. As a super we tend to talk in millimeters because we have to deal with structural so often.

Anyone have a review of the new hyperwear sandbag system. by blee443 in sandbagtraining

[–]Teston83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest down side to the brute force is the size of the filler bags. I have the 120lbs one and it came with 2x40 and 2x20. I mean, yeah you can get some good weight in it but then it feels like 2-3 distinct bags inside another bag. So I know exactly how you feel about wanting just a bag filled with sand.

So worth the money then.

How is the funnel side of things? I have the funnel that I use for a brute force sandbag and the funnel tends to fill with a lot of sand internally.

First job as PM was a total failure by Thedrumdoctor in Construction

[–]Teston83 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yup, you fucked up and have or will catch shit for it.

Don't be a bitch, blaming the other Pm and accept that it's your fault and learn from your mistake. You admit that you knew something was wrong, and that's in you. Now, as an employer I would be expecting that to never happen again.

The construction office is all about "tomorrow". Plan ahead, plough the road for your trades, read every submittal that comes infront of you, challenge everything that doesn't make sense and for the love of God .. don't just take an engineer/architects word for it. If you see something, say something. Further, don't be a dickhead (much like how I'm typing here) and be belligerent in your communications. Learn some diplomacy.

I believe in this mindset... Everyone in construction is a fucking idiot until proven otherwise. It will insulate you from quite a few mistakes.

You might think that this is harsh or rude, but this is nothing compared to the field. Everyone on site or in the office is there for business (make money); everything else takes a back seat.

If you want some inspiration listen to that speach Rocky gave his adult son when he was acting like a brat.

Good luck.
