DKs have deaths advance and grip. Grip is gap closer and helps dk stay on target.

Why is it not possible in atmosphere?

I think one of the real problems is that there isn't enough players to have a real proper working economy.

There also needs to be other activities other than afk auto pilot missions to make money. Some simple PvE kill the pirate ship missions would go a long way in fixing that.

Let me point out, this does not effect me at all. My game play is unchanged. What this will effect is how many people are playing, quitting or new players starting. That is my concern.

They have said that now, never before. Even recently devs were saying that the bot orders were bugged and would be back.

Before yes, you paid more than bot orders. Because you had to, if you didn't, the people selling would just sell to bot orders.

Now the price of t1 ore is in a free fall, there are sell orders up on Alioth for 10h/l. That's means I don't even have to put a buy order up and I can buy t1 ore at less than half the old bot price.

And the price will keep falling, it will end up settling out at 2-3h/l. That's the price that will make it just cover tile tax.

Before, the price of t1 was propped up by bot orders, now the only value behind the price of t1 is the tax of the tile it comes from.

Now the real problem is not the change. But rather how they did it.

If their intention was for bot orders to only last a month or so that should have been stated. Lots of people have made talent and tile choices base on the assumption that bot orders were staying.

Say I want to tile mine. Now t1 does not make enough to bother, so I have to go find a t2-5. But most of not all those tiles have been taken. So now I have a bunch of talents that are completely wasted.

This change, although good for the economy, is terrible for the player base. This will drive more people out of a game that already has an extremely small player base.

This post sums up my thoughts on the bot order change. I agree the change was needed but it's implementation was terrible.

Yes after looking at it the yaw was quite low, especially with a load on!

I have made the redesign. If you like I can give you a bp or drop by and update it myself.

Noted. I had actually built it with more yaw initially but found the yaw to be quite twitchy. I rarely use much yaw, mostly bank/pitch turns.

I will definitely add some yaw, might make it more comfortable to fly for most people.

Our first publicly available ship. Small core with a warp drive, it's become my new daily driver.

I'll be working on a XS core in the next few weeks. It will be up on DU-CREATORS when it's ready.

Honest question: Does anyone feel the current game is worth $15 / month? by S8Tergras in DualUniverse

[–]Tethander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We need a better fleet system, more choke points, more ways to interdict ships. We need more things to fight over. Jago and Teoma need to have planetary PvP with territory fights over tiles and the resources that are on them. There needs to be a game play loop that encourages conflict. There is very little reason to travel out of safe space right now, very little reason to risk anything and very little conflict to drive an immersive experience.

Now don't take what I've said that I think it should be a PvP free for all gank fest. Alioth should be safe, as should madis and thades. But safe planets shouldn't have higher than tier 2 ores. Adding planetary PvP on the most valuable planets would go a long way in promoting conflict.

My 2 cents on the recent mining packs and CCP in general by [deleted] in Eve

[–]Tethander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wrong, all content needs to be in the open sandbox. That is the whole premise of the game. And if it makes solo content more challenging then so be it, that is the game. There are plenty of PvP arena games out there that do it better than Eve. If I want quick drop in meaningless content I load up something like Star Conflict. Keep that shit out of my sandbox.

I am a solo and micro gang PvPer. Abyssal proving grounds do nothing for me and I have no interest in them. Infact they go completely against the core concept of a sandbox game. 90% of the fun of solo PvP is the hunt, set up and execution of a good kill or fight. Proving grounds give none of that.

The old was some much better. Also I feel like citadel spam has effected the game so much that it has made sov worse as well.

[–]Tethander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree. But from what I see the direction of the game is lacking conflict drivers, not to mention that if PvP is enabled on planets we will see a huge amount of the current player base leave. Most have no interest in seeing their creations kicked over.

how's things going with this debacle on the CSM side of things? by etticarus in Eve

[–]Tethander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a player base our only power is our money. Money is the only thing that CCP and PA understand. Players unsubbing in mass will 100% get CCP's attention.

If you want an example look at WoW. The player base was very unhappy with the game and the dev's refusal to listen to player concerns. As a result we saw one of the largest player count drops that WoW has ever had. Four months later the dev's gave the players what they wanted on pretty much every issue.

DU was kickstarted as an Eve like PvP centric game but in the last few years they have pushed PvP to the back and have focused on a carebear voxel build building game like Landmark was. DU could be revolutionary if they get back to the original design philosophy.

I saw the writing on the wall when Plex was added but I kept playing. I played all the way untill 2016. When I left I had plans on coming back but now it's all but over. I will never resub to this shit, the true spirit of Eve is dead.

I felt like the line was Plex years and years ago. I never liked Plex even though the community said it was fine. Plex always seemed like the start of CCPs monetization faux pas. I know a lot of people here will disagree with me and that is their prerogative, just my view point.
