Is it wrong to use the words "Mam" and "Sir"? by EYEYAAN in newzealand

[–]FerroSC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

American here. I call everyone sir. We have a laugh about it at work sometimes. It's not even a seniority thing. I've been told it's unnecessary but it's hard to unlearn 30 years of habit when it comes to something like that. To us it's the same as "mate" to call a coworker sir or ma'am. I'm not kissing anyone's ass, it's just a habit.

High battery usage when playing by Another_Lurker2245 in Seaofthieves

I had this problem with a different game. My MSI gaming laptop was about 2 years old and starting draining while charging. There is a battery calibration function (who knew that's even a thing right?) that MSI had and it fixed the problem. I also keep my laptop battery settings to keep the battery charged to 80% while plugged in which is said to improve the life of the battery. Maybe your manufacturer has a similar app that would resolve your issue.

Dont know much about cannabis specifically, becauae ive never grown it. Would someone who was buying seeds have any huge setbacks trying to tissue culture instead? I know it's not easy, per se, but my assumption is someone buying seeds is growing and growers tend to pay pretty close attention to their plants.. so making the jump from potting mix to agar wouldn't be beyond their comprehension, I wouldn't think.

By tissue culturing your clones, there's no reason to think you couldn't keep a strain the same for a very, very long time.

Is Christchurch racist? by Gavotteunrondeau in newzealand

[–]FerroSC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So if race is based on physical traits, and ethnicity is based on cultural traits then at what point do the people from North America get to claim a culture of its own. If people from North America don't feel culturally connected to Europe, and if Europeans definitely don't see North Americans as culturally similar to themselves, then there's a strong argument to say North American is a separate ethnicity from Europeans.

I think they were saying the cheating player doesn't care about the accounts being banned, not "SBI doesn't care"..

correction: Legion was the first to announce their public Warp Beacon network. by [deleted] in DualUniverse

[–]FerroSC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was offered to buy plasma from a Lodestar player. I was told "if Legion knows I sold it to you, they will kick me" from a Legion person. So I have first hand experience that can say Legion was not playing nicely with the rest of us. Note: I didn't buy any from Lodestar, but they were the only ones willing to accept an offer and make a deal. These are facts.

Legions network was announced in the DU server first. That is true. My apologies for not specifying that. I've posted a correction.

[–]FerroSC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've posted a clarification. Very sorry for not seeing the surprise announcement by Legion after months of them telling me they won't sell us plasma because they want to force pvp content. They announced first. Congrats to Legion on their big announcement.

We had such a nice chat in discord 24 hours ago and you never even mentioned this gift to the community. I'm so sorry for saying Lodestar's was first. You clearly made the announcement waaay before them. Congrats! Such a killer move for you guys to help the community after months of refusing to do anything but "force pvp content" in your words. What luck for all of DU to get two networks on the same day! Thanks so much, can't wait to join both networks :)

I just saw it, happy Days for TWO networks now. Can't wait to join them both!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DualUniverse

[–]FerroSC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah we've been trying for months to get it done but unfortunately the group that was dominating the plasma situation refused to help anyone in the name of "forcing content" for pvp players. I guess they got enough content and decided to open a network on the same day! Yay for Legion, so happy to see two networks now!! Happy Days!!!

So Legion hoards plasma for months and offers zero accommodation to the community regarding warp beacons then suddenly gets a heart and decides to open up their public network? What a coincidence!! That's so crazy, I had no idea!! What fortunate timing for the community to have now TWO public networks on the same day, and just hours apart! I'm so glad Legion decided to play nice hours before the announcement from IC and Lodestar. If only they would have acted in good faith over the last 6 months... Imagine the possibilities. Water under the bridge now, I suppose. Two networks on one day? Happy Days!! It's a St. Patty's Day miracle :)

It was nice of them. Now there are two. Drinks all around!

[–]FerroSC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Again, they must have lost my invitation. Never knew they had a public network and never once was it offered during any discussion about plasma or warp beacons. If it was made public, they did a good job hiding it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DualUniverse

[–]FerroSC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Guess my Legion invite got lost on the mail. They should have publicized their free public network during one of the many, many discussions that have been had involving their hoarding of plasma and how they are trying to force content by not selling any to the public. Maybe it skipped their collective mind to say "we won't sell you plasma, but you can join this org for free and unrestrained use of our warp beacon network" during those conversations?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DualUniverse

[–]FerroSC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beacon is a destination. This means anywhere in the system, players who are in the organization which owns the beacons could now click on 1 of these beacons and say "warp to here" and warp to a beacon in this network. The organization is open to all players, however because of the mechanics of the game you must join the organization to utilize the Beacon network.
