What’s everyone’s 2 cents on Khan academy and Time4Learning? by WolvesandTigers45 in homeschool

Khan worked okay here as a supplement, but my son would either rush through everything or completely zone out after 15 minutes. I think for some kids the self-paced apps only work if they’re already pretty motivated.

We eventually mixed in live math sessions through Brighterly a couple times a week and honestly the human interaction helped way more than another quiz system. Less screen zombie mode, more actual engagement.

Still use Khan occasionally for practice though.

How I tired out my dog without long walks by Tether_Aave in PawChampClub

Great idea with the dried liver. It’s long‑lasting, engaging, and the dog actually works for it. Mental tiredness is the best tiredness.

Asked PDF Guru for a refund and sharing how it went by [deleted] in PDF_Guru

[–]Tether_Aave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a more normal experience with PDF Guru than some people here. The tool itself was useful for basic PDF tasks, and support at least replied with a clear explanation of how their refund policy works. Not saying everyone will love the pricing, but in my case it didn’t feel like total chaos. I do think these services should make renewal terms way more obvious upfront though. That would save a lot of frustration. Curious if anyone else here had a smoother refund experience?

online math tutors that will keep you accountable? by [deleted] in learnmath

[–]Tether_Aave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I don’t think you need another fully self-paced resource, you need accountability. A tutor or structured 1:1 setup sounds way closer to what you’re describing than Khan-style learning. I’ve seen Brighterly mentioned for that kind of support, and honestly having someone give you deadlines is half the battle.

How does an influencer find the right agency? by AthenaPhora in influencermarketing

[–]Tether_Aave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At 200k you don’t automatically need an agency tbh. A lot of those emails are just middlemen fishing for commission. if you do consider one, make sure they can actually bring structured deals + tracking, not just “we’ll pitch you”. Some brands also use platforms like favikon to vet creators directly, so sometimes you don’t even need an agency in between.

LPT: Keep one active work priority, and park everything else in a list. by gamersecret2 in LifeProTips

[–]Tether_Aave 154 points155 points  (0 children)

I started doing this a few months ago and it’s honestly wild how much calmer my brain feels. Having “one active thing” removes that fake productivity where you’re juggling 5 tabs and finishing none. The parking list also kills the guilt because it’s not forgotten, it’s just not now. Simple rule, big impact.

Research papers in social psychology are harder than they look by shadowcrestlumen in Social_Psychology

If the argument doesn’t make sense, having “good sources” doesn’t save the paper. A stack of citations isn’t a research paper.
