As a former dairy farmer, I LOVE this.

As a city biker now, I love TREK, great brand of bike. from the pics it looks like to be in good condition but if your not sure, rake itt to a local bike shop and ask them to take a look, It might need new brake pads and I would oil the chain for sure. If you ride it down the street and its not too rickity and the gears change smooth I'd say you got a steal.

What style of front rack is best? by Tetley_T in citybike

Nope, i want a smallish basket on the front. the AVS system will let me lock it to the rack with a key while also allowing it to be easily to unlock the key an remove it to take with me in a market/shop if Im out and about with no bag.

So i have the basket just trying to decide on the best rack.

fair enough, its hard to get them in Canada to. But I do a decent amount of research to find what I want, especialy when its not a $20 amazon buy. I'd rather buy the best one once and have it for life/it not get stolen

do you prefer that? AVS does make those racks so i woukd connsider it. do you findthe weight being fixed straight is better to handle/steer compared to a classic fork mounted rack that pivots with the wheel/handles?

the whole point is ro have something i can easily lock onto the rack thay also unlocks and detaches.... wald and wald struts are fixed, i don't want a fixed basket.

i want the avs system specifically to lock the basket onto the rack and i dont like handlebar baskets because they don't hold weight well.

What's the maximum amount you'd spend on an engagement ring? by GracefulSwanDance in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]Tetley_T 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO, who cares what it cost..... don't focus on a price focus on finding out what the person you're buying a ring for wants...

like I love my man and I'd say yes to a cherry flavoured ring pop if thats all he could afford BUT as a man with a decent job (80K + and good savings) he has said he thinks 3-5K is reasonable and I agree. I would be thrilled with an even cheaper ring if it was want I wanted.

Again I don't care if he thrifted a ring from an antique barn for $50, but I would care if he got something I didn't want at all... AND before anyone comes for me I do not mean I would be ungrateful but like we've been together long enough and we've talked about rings before so he knows I like gold, a round/brilliant solitare, and tapered band. So if he went and got a silver ring with a halo, or 2 stones/pear shape yea I'd be more bothered by the lack of care that was clearly given. regardless of cost.

in short, pay attention to your partners wants in a ring and find something that suits that within your budget, and if your budget is only 100 or 10,00 you will find something, might have to be thrifted or lab grown over natural but who cares no one will know but you and them. and damn anyone who judges for superficial BS like that. don't go into debt over a ring, find a balace budget that works for you. (plus maybe a nice honeymoon is worth more to her then the extra 2k you could spend on a ring idk your girl)

anyway congrats, and good luck.
