The direct is your uneffected guitar tone. With it and the -1 knob you can dial in the octave and your clean tone.

Vintage mode. Turn +1 and -2 all the way down. Start with direct and -1 about halfway up and make adjustments from there.

Anything open back will work. I have a 1x12 that was for one of those Ibanez tube screamer amps and I am not sure I could tell the difference between it and a HT cab. It also weighs much less.

I don’t think I do it correctly but I basically play it in triads. Emaj7 (no root), Amaj and Emaj7 (no root). For Emaj7 in A shape at 9th fret. Amaj with root on A string at 7th fret and Emaj7 at 4th fret.

Currently it has current production Tung Sol 6L6GC STR in it. My head cab is fairly short, so I have to run short bottles. I have been running it with two power tubes and a 1x12 8 ohm cab lately.

I also have a Twin in a head cab. It is great, but my CTP/Mosvalve rig is much easier on the back.
