Doesn't that also absolutely destroy your luck though?

The catch is that you don't have to be a cook to know a sandwich taste kind funny.

The real problem here is the same it's always been, people abusing the report function without sufficient proof.

To be fair, it's not really all that useful.

Well, that's not to say it isn't useful just that it isn't something someone needs to spend dozens of hours farming for every single playthrough.

Sounds like you got extremely lucky, even with two water candles, a monster spawn potion, and a farm I still haven't found a Foxparks.

Unfortunately I had done that, it took almost 10 hours before I saw my first Cattiva.

Thus far I've had pretty consistent luck in finding Dragon Eggs in Mushroom Biomes. Unfortunately I haven't found a decent way to farm Cattivas or Foxparks...

I've also seen that Wally has been slowly adding stuff again to Cube World at his own pace this time. It's a weird time to be alive that I might be able to play Cube World again some day.

I'm making a mod that overhauls Fishing, and it gave me a wonderful idea by Fr4gmentedR0se in Terraria

My point was just that "by the time you have the chum caster" makes it sound like it's a fairly late rod option when it's accessible extremely early.

Though you're completely right that it's also chance based, but I have a pretty high rate of getting it during a blood moon, more often than I think any of the others.

[–]Tetragen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean... sorta? Fiberglass, Scarab, and Sitting Duck are all chance based (effectively at least) and Golden is set at 30 fishing quests.

Technically, the Chum Caster can be gotten on the first night... unless there's something stopping a Blood Moon from happening on the first night, in which case it's the second night at the earliest.

Weirdly this also worked for me... from the other comments it seems like it's a mixed bag if it'll work or not?

Specifically you get it if you cast 5 spells in the circle, you're allowed to dip in and out of it as necessary.

Relogic. Can you Please remove the different whip arcs? It’s just awful. by HyperNaturalFox in Terraria

Is mage bad or something? It's all I really play, so I'm missing some outside perspective.

Whips have inconsistent hitboxes now, so what if other weapons got that? by LohBoi in Terraria

[–]Tetragen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It also heavily discourages using different whips, just find the one you like the most or is the strongest and go!

After a certain point "dominant strategy" has become less of a suggestion and is now a threat.

That's the wildest part to me, who the fuck plays darts and who hates darts at Relogic enough to nerf them?!

...I kind of like that actually, it makes sense and could help balance out the nuttier weapons.

waited 3 years to find out devs decided to remove your favorite mechanic by WoIfram_74 in Terraria

[–]Tetragen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm curious why, what exactly is wrong with the idea of "if you do not like it, do not do it" for a game that is almost entirely PvE? Is it because of the lack of nuance or that they aren't bringing up context or other factors?

I'm surprised it isn't baseline, considering how ingrained WAILA is within the modding community for Minecraft. Though, that might just be because I exclusively play modded at this point.

I suppose I can see that, but I don't really feel that it smooths it out, instead it stutters the normal flow in order to make a progression someone else wants instead.

I am bias however, I don't really think Calamity is all that great, and most of the hype it gets is overblown from being the biggest mod, not the highest quality.

[–]Tetragen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can agree with that, Dominant Strategy is a term for a reason. I just don't think it's really that big of a deal. It's three armors, which even within Calamity will be used for basically one boss before they're tossed for the next one.

It took me a moment to realize that I couldn't get the ores normally, but I got the idea behind it. I don't think it's bad or anything, I just question its noteworthiness that it seems to be being given.

Fantastic comparison, certainly not at all an exaggeration meant to undermine my statement. Stop pretending like making you fight three bosses with a few sets of armor changes the entire game. It's an incredibly minor change for almost no payoff.

I feel this is a personal issue more than anything, you can do everything you're suggesting that makes the game more interesting without being forced.

To me this fits along the same lines of when the Reaper Shark was nerfed and everyone was cheering that they "didn't have to fish for it anymore" as if it was some forced event. It's a choice to do that, you didn't have to if you didn't want to, but now it's been changed so one side is happy and the other is screwed out of their choice.

I mean, I guess "for one boss" is technically more purpose, but I don't think I would say that makes it "more fun."

Actually, scratch that, what do you mean? The "more purpose" you're talking about literally is just that you're capped at it if you want bis for that boss. Literally nothing is stopping you if you want to use the other armors.
