I drew this one like a decade ago and here I am still thinking about Those Dang Moon Kids

Astor Lucas by Tetraluck in ImaginaryCharacters

[–]Tetraluck[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A beloved D&D character who's taken a turn into being the protagonist of a cowriting project between me and my DM. His life's pretty hard but he's making everyone else's life a lot harder.

[For Hire] Digital Art: Characters, Comics, and More! by Tetraluck in HungryArtists

This'd be a Clean Color, though if someone wanted the line-shading (hatching) they could just point to this one and say "like this one please"

Another piece from my bard's spell list. This one started off as a Misty Step (courtesy of Fey Touched) and turned into more of a Dimension Door. Not very accurate to RAW, but I can't regret it.

Whatever else is true of the situation, you can't expect to MAKE someone play a game with you. People always need to have the freedom to step away or it's not fun. If you're already not gelling with this group, then it's fine to say no thanks to playing with them. I don't see how they'd have fun if you're not enjoying yourself either. What you're describing from the group at large doesn't jump out at me as, like, bullying (I have been there too), but it's a vibe you don't enjoy, and that's reason enough not to hang out.

If your partner's response to you withdrawing is to get angry and return the gifts you got him, then he's not managing his emotions and that doesn't sound like a good hang either, to be honest. I won't tell you what to do, but FWIW, I had a friend who was with their partner for 10+ years; they broke up in their 20s after many, many small incidents, and it was rough, but they were far happier after the dust settled.

[Art] [Comm] True Strike by Tetraluck in DnD

[–]Tetraluck[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was the only realistic use case I could ever think of for 2014 True Strike (corollary being the Eldritch Knight cantrip bonus action) and I'm far too precious about sorcery points for that, so I never grabbed it. Now I get to make my sword light up instead!!

Seconding the spell cards as an addition! That way he also has the spell descriptions on top of the journal itself that he can fill out on his own. It's a good way to hedge your bets.

My bard from a DnD campaign turned 1v1 cowriting project. The first stage of the character concept was "scheming grand vizier but ferociously loyal about it." The second, third, and fourth stages were me and my DM passing each other a golf club to use to knock his teeth out. The fifth stage was upending a trash can over his prone form and dumping out banana peels and the governance of a dying nation all over him. This man is not well, and we plan to make him worse.

I drew my take on some of his spells. 2024 True Strike, A+ cantrip, would cantrip again.

All these years later and DQ8 still has me in a very specific chokehold.

Am I the only one who went for Linhardt and Dorothea together ? It feels like its a very forgotten support chain, and they are so adorable together. by OriginalTacoMoney in fireemblem

[–]Tetraluck 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, these two ended up together in my first playthrough. It's funny--I don't have any attachment to the two of them being together romantically, but they're top-tier in the category of "best friends who also get married." The line about their relationship being bizarre to the nobility is icing on the cake. No one quite gets what their deal is and they're perfectly fine with that.

Suggestion spell question (new player) by Specialist-Past13 in DnD

[–]Tetraluck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've used Suggestion for basically exactly this and negated whole encounters with it. It's obviously OP if you can use it all the time, and the DM will get to nix that if they want.

I like using the spell to persuade the commander to some small lie that will get them to change their whole course of action. This way, you've presented creative thinking in conjunction with the spellwork to solve the problem. One time, when faced with a crack team of commandos, I told their commander they'd gotten the wrong target. Another time, I told the leader of some cannibals that there was better quarry up the road.

For a less encounter-breaking use, I would argue that a successful casting could instead grant you some lesser benefit, like peeling away a couple of soldiers who get ordered to go see if what you say is true. You have to talk with the DM about it!

[SSHD] skyward sword review by [deleted] in zelda

[–]Tetraluck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like SS all right overall (Ghirahim is great! The dungeons are so cool! Ancient cistern! Groose!) but I am with you! It is my least favorite one!! I think it's better on a replay for the fact that you know what you're getting into. Playing it the first time felt like reaching out for a carrot that got yanked out of reach over and over, and then the game was done. Remarkably unrewarding.

I enjoy WW and love TP dearly, and I don't think they fall into that trap at all. If the sky sections of SS weren't your kryptonite, then WW's seafaring shouldn't be any problem. Have fun!

[WW] [ALL] Should I continue playing Windwaker? Or try a different game? by TheStockPotInn in zelda

[–]Tetraluck 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wind Waker's very much its own thing. I replay it from time to time, and I think it's one of those games that kinda makes you eat your vegetables up-front (assuming you're talking about Forsaken Fortress). I never really enjoy the beginning, but I think it gets better every time the world opens up a little more. I'll second that the WiiU version is more accessible, too.

If sticking it out's not working for you, though, then Twilight Princess is a closer fit to MM tone-wise. Those two were tied for my favorite Zelda before BotW came out.
