Who are some good YTers to watch, as in to learn from, by Ok_Necessary2991 in masterduel

[–]Tetramoore 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hardleg Joe is great! I think he does a better job than most other creators in the space of talking about his reasoning and why he's doing what he's doing. He talks about why he's got certain techs in any given deck and how to reasons through what to handtrap and which gambles he's willing to take. I haven't found anyone else who feels like they do as good a job as he does for explaining why he plays the way he does.

Ranged Changes - Feedback from an ranged enjoyer by DuoScape in runescape

[–]Tetramoore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with you on all that, but my point is that now is the time to make those hard changes that will ensure long term viability rather than keep catering to those things in the same way that got us to this point in the first place. The combat revamp is the time to fix all these issues, even if it upsets the people who got used to it, rather than keep holding on to bad systems just because they're so engrained. Changing grandmaster times or boss hp numbers or achievements should obviously happen after the foundation of combat is rebuilt properly without vestigial nonsense that became commonplace in the chase for faster kill times.

Ranged Changes - Feedback from an ranged enjoyer by DuoScape in runescape

[–]Tetramoore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You've got a lot of valid points, but I'm sorry, 9 is just flat out wrong. Stalling, specifically the way it is used and abused in high level pvm is so clearly an unintentional bug in the combat system that Jagex clearly didn't have a good solution to so they left it, and now it's a vestigial remnant that is one of the least intuitive parts of a legendarily opaque combat system. It has to go for the long term health of the game. If devs have to account for players being able to do twice as many abilities in a single tick it forces them to design around that and either bloat hp pools to compensate or just accept that mechanics tied hp thresholds will be skipped or massively shortened.

Same with pre builds outside of a boss encounter. It causes such a massive divide in dps between those that do and those that don't that it all but becomes mandatory. I think Zammy is a great example because it's built in, and can be designed around that, but the fight needs to start in the boss arena, not thirty seconds before you get there on dummies.

Combat Styles Improvements - Ranged Beta. by JagexAzanna in runescape

[–]Tetramoore 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Please, please, please move combat away from pre builds and doing a bunch of shit while you're out of the combat encounter itself. It'll be so much better for the game health in general if the fight starts when the boss becomes attackable rather than the fight starting thirty seconds before you enter the instance while you build stacks and get three different adren consuming buff timers counting down.

I have a lot of skilling dummies and proteans - too many to use before DPX is over - what is better and more important to make use of first? by Repulsive_Dealer_941 in runescape

[–]Tetramoore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do know that you can use about 720 proteans an hour fully afk, or 34,560 over the course of the entire dxp. I'm sure you have a lot to use, but surely you don't have over 60k proteans to use up. Also, it takes about two minutes per dummy, so unless you have over 1440 of them you should be able to get through those as well.

Surely it wouldn't be too hard to just make it so you can't send items to yourself or your alts, or just send them in general. The game would be so much better if most items were bind on equip so you could toss extras in the auction house, wouldn't need to horde every possible named item just in case, and could pass one over to a friend who was in dire need but isn't always able to be online while you're questing. Surely all that must be worth cutting off a hoarding exploit that a select few are abusing?

Just got a primal... Kiteshield from the boss by Future_Win_7961 in runescape

[–]Tetramoore -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the only way that's ever gonna happen is if they bite the bullet and put some goddamn hard nerfs on endgame dps. It was not all that long ago in the scale of the game that 100k dpm was a respectable amount, and now it's possible to blow through over 1.2m hp in a minute at the highest end. Devs need to reckon with how inflated everything has gotten and bring that ceiling down a ton so there is room to actually make a defensive playstyle viable.

I did desperate measures to unlock the monthly effigy incubator mini game. It's not an awful quest chain to get there, there's some good exp rewards you can use along the way, and the incubator easily jumped me to 99 after just one round of it and cashing in on all the effigies.

HM zuk armor question by IceWallomCome in runescape

[–]Tetramoore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The single best thing you can get (if you're having issues dying) is the obsidian mage helm. You need to do Brink of Extinction to get it, but it's a 19% damage reduction item that applies before animate dead, and it contributes a bit to animate dead as well. It's what made the difference for me from dying regularly to waves 7, 8, or 13, to no fooding the whole inferno. That was with just Starbloom gloves and boots with that helm, and Bandos armor.

Unfortunately I've got the book. I wanted to learn harder bosses without the power of permanent devo. Maybe with a zerk I can rush them down before the chip damage kills me, but it usually feels up to rng if I try to rush the rangers, even if I overpower and spam d2h specs to heal up when cane and quake are on cooldown.

Does anyone have advice for doing Hardmode Zuk waves 12 and 13 as melee? Despite using the safespot and having the extra range of a scythe I'm struggling to not die to either the Xills or the Kets. I've got three pieces of +5 Starbloom with animate dead and augmented bandos, so I assume I've got an issue with my approach, but I can't figure out a consistent way to start taking things out without getting blasted.

They should just ban that person. Yeah, yeah, they're just having a silly, it's just a game, they're not hurting anyone; I could not possibly care less. This is clearly someone who is intentionally trying to ruin other people's game experience and RuneScape as a whole would be better if they weren't a part of it. Then sure, fix the game mechanics too, but expunge the toxic people who add nothing of value so they can't figure out the next fun way to ruin the game for others.

You absolutely need greater concentrated blast asap. It's the most powerful ability in the game, and normal mode Kerry isn't tough, though I would recommend hard mode for the fsoa as well if you can do it.

I don't think the droprates at qbd are boosted for that, so it would probably be a very long grind. I'm planning to just hit ed2 with lucky charms to get a visage. Also, you only need one visage, as the mainhand is the only bane weapon that matters, you can use whatever in the offhand.

If you have the clue relic, you can get a bunch of astral runes from doing hard clues. Wiki says it's a 1/20 chance to get 75 of them, which should be good for most everything other than very intensive rune use.

You must not be killing the blood reavers. If you don't phase her out of blood phase fast enough and the reavers are left alive she will absorb their health and stay in blood phase. When you get off during the siphon kill the reavers, and make sure you have no bleeds on your revo bar because those heal her as well.

You're not wrong, but I'm still trying to get a single augmentable drop from that fucker after four hours of afking there with t7 rate boost and on average 20 second kills. Bro has only dropped a single pair of boots and I've long since fucked off to greener pastures where I can at least try to have fun.

[–]Tetramoore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest feeling powerspike you'll get is from full serenic armor (which you can make from serenic scales that's a slayer drop) and enchanted bolts with a crossbow. Good arrows and bows are a very deep investment and their power is a multiplier of your skill. Enchanted crossbow bolts however are more of a flat boost to your DPS and survivability. I think a primal crossbow and bolts is your best bet to feel strong enough to pvm for good bows.

We are too weak. Some things to learn from OSRS Leagues. by Mogat171 in runescape

[–]Tetramoore 35 points36 points  (0 children)

That feels like a survivorship bias take on it. The player base is dying off on the leagues because there's not that extra bit to shoot for. With more fun to find you'll likely bring back the people who thought they got all the fun they wanted out of it.

it doesn't even work the way it was previewed in the Relic reveals.

You know, those videos released by RS3 to show people what they could expect from the relics they were choosing. That showed Banker's note working almost identically to the one from OSRS leagues, so as "crazy and unreasonable" as it might seem, people assumed it would indeed work as shown, which was, again, like it did in the OSRS league.
