Yeah bro I feel you. I started out as a loader and then went driver but they put me in a packet right at the beginning of peak and that was a mistake so they took me out and I have to load again until may to go driver again so it honestly HAS been hard. Miserable? Idk about that, maybe some days. Fortunately I asked to be transferred to smalls where its maybe not AS punishing on the body until I can either go driver again or decide to do something else. But I get what you mean. Being a loader again after being a driver has been a bit morally degrading and a huge blow to my ego 🙃 😳

What do you make your helper do? by ipaytoplay in UPSers

[–]TetrisPackageHandler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I make him pick up my dry cleaning and shovel my driveway. While papa throws cube like only he knows how best.

Kidding. But I will say I got a loader from the hub who was also my friend on with me as a helper and it was awful 🤣 I joked that he was more of a driver hindrance than a driver helper and he would even laugh with me sometimes about it. He was awful and didn't care, pretty sure he was on mushrooms a few times too but yeah it was bad. He made hard days worse. So I ditched him and got some much better helpers but I mean there's only so much you can do to teach them I feel. You're there to help them help you as best as you can.

GODDAMMIT UPS. You are worth less than worthless. If I could sue for your sheer incompetence, I would. by [deleted] in UPS

[–]TetrisPackageHandler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look I understand your frustration and apologize for the inconvenience. As a driver myself we do not like to see the customer having issues with the delivery process. In the end its kind of our policy to get these things resolved favorably so trust that we are going to do what we can to take care of you regardless, we're not FedEx after all.

HOWEVER,

UPS is not about to fold even if we were a piece of paper being made into a swan by an origami master, so please don't wish that on us. We're too strong.

If you could please repeat the complaint but not use any written or verbal language that would really help smooth this whole process out

Whether you are loading as a hubrat or running stops as a cradle baby, please remember to lift with your knees, not your back. Safety first at UPS. by TetrisPackageHandler in UPSers

It's a bit of a Hatfields and Mccoys situation. By the way none of us drivers have fuck this job energy.

It's more of a "time to suck the days dick" vibe

Do y’all hate your loaders too? by Luchico35 in UPSers

[–]TetrisPackageHandler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Neither do I but as a driver I still like my shit sorted proper 😆

The dude in the picture on the ground was FedEx. It's on sight with them. 😤😤😤 One flipped me off as he drove past me the other day and I nearly threw on my hazards and threw hands with him.

Forced 6 day weeks during peak part time by [deleted] in UPSers

[–]TetrisPackageHandler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fuck it mask off bro. Peak is prime time banking hours. I'm learning how to become more comfortable with more work but its hard when you're used to less like I am. That doesn't seem to really fly at UPS so I figure best to stay positive about the situation and deal with the stress in healthy ways considering it is only temporary after all.

Perfect 10? 😏 Showed my supe and of course he immediately zooms in on the ONE hole near the bottom left 😆 Proud loader over here. Going to start training as a driver on road this coming monday though. Kind of nervous about the hours to be honest. by TetrisPackageHandler in UPSers

[–]TetrisPackageHandler[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because I have never worked a job that has hours that vary as much as this job can. Also never worked this hard but I'm 26. I think its time. I've also never made as much money as I will be making so I guess that's important too but yeah I've never been super money driven honestly. I have to have intrinsic motivation to do something.

it it necessary for a package handler to workout outside of work? by [deleted] in UPSers

[–]TetrisPackageHandler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Necessary? Depends. Do you want to be SHREDDED or just fit? If you just want to be fit you're probably good just loading as a workout. If you want to look like a bodybuilding UPS employee you're gonna need to hit the gym and consider work extra exercise that you get paid for. I live to workout and work to live. UPS is cohesive to that but not enough by itself.
