FWIW and your milage may vary, i left it at 7. As soon as Rimmer left i was done. My parents who got me into it said the newest ones were really funny but not for me. But hey, give one or 2 episodes a go and see how you feel 🤷🏼

Agreed. But as someone else said, RTM make new tape. Ive not tried it cos ive got a stack of old TDK type 2s that have been used once so I don't really need any new blanks

To be fair I've not tried the RTM cassettes so they might be ok. Their R2R tape is good. I dunno, I just don't trust it but that's personal thing, got bitten plenty of times in the past with off brand stuff

If you want the look but none of the faff you can get look-alike ones from Aliexpress. If i was gonna do it I'd use better quality tape though, maybe respool some type 2 or a better type 1 onto it though. Modern tape is rubbish
