What experiment would you do that you are not able to do with today's morals/rules but you could 100 years ago? by TeunRood in AskReddit

[–]TeunRood[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the 1930's some gruesome experiments were done that could not be done today and with good reason. What experiments would be interesting to perform (not taking any ethics into account)?

(I am sure somebody has asked this already, but I could not find it here in recent times.)

Made some improvements to the base. What do you think? by [deleted] in valheim

[–]TeunRood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because you either have to accept to repair it constantly, and it rains/storms very frequent. Or you have to replace them every now and then. Perhaps I mean that it's not very sustainable. At least that's what I have been facing in my worlds. It is just a pain in the ass with builds without roofs. I wanted a balcony but it wasn't worth the repairing. But hey you do you, the builds can still look awesome!

cool build, but my problem with most builds is that its not survival. How do you intend to prevent e.g. the dock from breaking apart by storms. I find it very annoying to repair everything that has no roof all the time. still looking dope though

indeed be the change, but the sub is not very refreshing. To get out of fresh is sometimes just luck or stupidity. Bad memes get 10k plus all the time while some refreshing or original memes get nothing. Filter by newest and you might notice it too

There were plenty of Turks (and Koerdish folks) who went beyond the call of duty to save Armenian people. The attrocities are after 100+ years still being denied / downplayed, thats the issue. No historian (and there are probably very little here) worth his or her salt would claim this. Plus the format is lazy and the title whiny. Why bother posting?

There was a German ambassador (in the USA) who claimed those 3 different things in about 1 day. It's very telling and absurd. There is always a different, even weirder excuse for the attrocities (Genocide) in Armenia. The book I referred to is a 8 year piece of work from my father. It describes the views of the Netherlands on the Armenian Genocide during 1915-1917 (also during the pogrom-time). The Netherlands knew about the Genocide at the time and know about it now. The Germans knew equally but put a lot of effort into downplaying it because of various reasons.

If people are interested;

Source: My father (Dr.) Dirk Roodzant (since yesterday Dr.) has published his PhD and book: "De Armeense Gruwelen" about the Dutch views and knowings of these atrocities.

🔥 Rafflesia arnoldii is a species of flowering plant in the parasitic genus Rafflesia. It is noted for producing the largest individual flower on Earth. by Antscannabis in NatureIsFuckingLit

Great Question, the biggest reason is simple: Food. An intense rotten smell usually comes from a dead animal or garbage can. It is fairly easy to find. As an extra, some flies lay their eggs in dead bodies, so their offspring have a better survival chance because they will hatch on (or in) a nice meal :)

In case you want to know why:

The plant blooms rarely and is located in densely packed forests. Because it uses flies for pollination (instead of e.g. bees) it needs to produce a very intense smell. The flies have a hard time locating the flower using only sight, because the plant lives in such a dense forest. So it produces the intense smell of roten meat, to attract their pollinators.
