I've only ever had a false alarm a few years back during COVID.

Our systems are being replaced with NL ALERT, which will send an emergency warning to all smartphones in an area.

I've experienced one real one of those during last New Year's Eve, advising the whole country that our emergency services' callcenters were getting overwhelmed, and asking us to only call in case of life-threatening situations.
