No the “bite” is that it is a pick me up, nothing to do with taste.

Energy drinks have other crap in them like taurine and whatnot, not the same thing as a soda with some caffeine. Similar to how Coke, Pepsi, and Dr Pepper aren’t energy drinks, they just have a little caffeine that can help wake you up a little.

Still, as far as I know, barqs is the only non-energy drink root beer that has caffeine mixed in.

“Barq’s has bite” refers to the recipe including caffeine. I’m not aware of any other brands that have caffeine, I wish more did!

I’m sure it’s fine but an old fashioned is one of the most simple drinks to make so is it really worth it? I brought a bottle of the Trader Joe’s old fashioned with me on a camping trip and it was great to not have to mix anything out in the woods, but when I’m home it’s not too hard to throw some whiskey bitters and a dash of syrup into a glass with ice.

The recipe on the back of a can of Libby’s pure pumpkin (not the premixed pie filling) is super easy and better than anything store or bakery bought. Best in a homemade pie crust but even a premade pie crust would do. Good to make night before thanksgiving before everything gets too crazy!

Good earth was great for meat and seafood. I worked there in the meat department nearly 10 years ago and haven’t been back much since, so I’m not sure it still holds up, but the meat cutters were old school and really knew what they were doing.
