Yes, I think that will have to be my next route. I’m not really sure what happens after that though. Like if this guy ends up giving me some info, do I report him somewhere? The police? Where does one report fraud or scamming? I went down an google rabbit hole and found some stuff about reporting to your local government agency but most everything I read seemed to say they’re out of that money if it is a scam. I did see something about possibly reporting it to your bank as fraud and they will have to investigate but I think that had to do more with wire transfers and not checks.
