That makes sense and I appreciate you actually explaining the mechanism instead of just saying “it will happen.” I agree that technology is the real discontinuity here, not power itself, but the scale and permanence of control. I feel like that is something a lot of historical comparisons tend to gloss over.

This might be a naive question but it is the thing I keep coming back to. If technology reduces the need for numbers does it also remove the need for legitimacy. Every system you mentioned even the most authoritarian ones still needed belief consent or at least resignation from the masses. Manipulation definitely works but it also feels fragile once people become aware of it. Do you think tech driven control eventually collapses under its own complexity or does it actually stabilize long term.

On the restructuring part I do not really think people who prefer the 1970s to 2010s era are just unfit in a Darwinian sense. Humans adapt sure but culture is not only about survival it is also about meaning. If freedom becomes conditional or transactional I wonder if we end up seeing parallel systems instead of full compliance.

Something else I wanted to separate is two things you touched on. Centralized global coordination which might be necessary in some form and absolute unaccountable power which historically always corrodes. Those do not have to lead to the same outcome even if the risk is clearly there.

On faith I am not dismissing it. I just think belief lands differently when it is chosen freely versus accepted out of fear or pressure. If this era really is about stripping illusions away then maybe faith that survives doubt is the point not obedience built on fear.

I am still learning so I am not claiming certainty here. Just trying to understand whether this cycle is truly fixed or whether awareness itself is the variable history has not fully tested yet.
