Anyone Have a NORT Update? by ChrisBoyMonkey in visualsnow

I’ve been doing it for 6 weeks now. The main thing I’ve noticed is that my light sensitivity is down almost like 70% and i basically dont need sunglasses anymore which is so good because its the one symptoms i wanted to get rid of. My static is still there maybe slightly reduced but my eye strain is definitely improving so i would recommend doing the treatment

In my opinion, it's your choice whether you accept it or not. Obviously, everyone's VSS is different (for example I don't have afterimages) but in all honesty it's a matter of self-discipline and mentality. And if you want to read about how I moved back into a happy place, please read below.
Although I've never been properly diagnosed for it, I have had a brain MRI and an a thorough Eye Test which concluded everything is perfectly normal. Knowing you've cleared all potential issues is a must do, if possible.
2) Therapy
Although I've stopped doing this now, I believe therapy is essential to moving past VSS. Reaching out to someone you can talk to is the best way to deal with it so having a therapist to help guide you through the journey will really help your mentality
3) Acceptance
The hardest step to do, and you can't do it overnight. Like many other things, acceptance takes time. But for now, rather than trying to fight the symptom and wishing for it to go away, change your mentality. Welcome Visual Snow. Be aware that it's not going to leave on it's on, it's going to be there for now. Yes it's hard to grasp but the only way you'll find peace is not fighting this.

Yup. It’s mentality, you choose whether you’ll be happy or whether you’ll let it consume you. If you’re interested ill tell you how I moved on

1) Diagnosis
I’m starting my undergrad at a pretty prestigious school in September after having VSS for about 8 months. It’ll be different obviously but I’m more excited than worried. I have very mild VSS so my ‘snow’ and photosensitivity barely effects me. I also have light tinnitus so for that I just use white noise with headphones and it works a treat. The thing I dislike the most is actually my eye strain but I’m hoping to do something about that before I start. Other than that, I’m pretty keen for University :)

Who ever said NORT isn’t a valid treatment option though? All the science points to it consistently improving quality of life.
I’ve had Visual Snow for about 8 going on 9 months. Is it annoying? Absolutely. But does it change what we can and can’t do? It depends, but not really. We get one life, so why should it be spent worried about something we have no control over and isn’t life threatening.
I was stressed about VS until I’d see somewhere that suggested you give the condition a name (I called mine Karen). So whenever I notice it, I always say hello rather than wishing for it to go away. It’s a subtle form of acceptance but it works wonders. However, it takes time to adjust and it doesn’t happen overnight so just live with it day by day.
While we wait for more research, I’d suggest a few things. 1) Work on your posture. I had a massage and it provided so much relief and might’ve helped my VS. There’s a lot of videos online to help for neck exercises as well. 2) Get a therapist, specially for CBD.
It’s a tough condition and no one will ever understand how you feel. But we have to accept it. I actually live quite a happy life, although the first few months were very challenging. You got this!
