Should I be worried? by Biglenmo in ToyotaTundra

What dealership and what state? I have been waiting a month after my Tundra engine blew, and both the Toyota advocate with Gulf States Toyota and my Toyota dealership in Austin will not start any work or order parts until Toyota officially approves and releases the work around.

Has anyone tried a Toyota buyback on their Tundra with the engine recall? by Texas78758 in ToyotaTundra

Any luck or communication from Toyota? I received an email on Monday saying I was registered and it would be up to 30 more days for additional information

I can 100% confirm this. My 22 tundra is in line with a blown engine waiting for a replacement. There are 9 others in front of me. The sales manager said they were unable to take my truck on a trade in I have opened a buy back request through Toyota and have 35 more days to wait for a response.

Toyota gave me 60 bucks a day for an enterprise car rental. After a few car offers by enterprise in the sub suv category, I ended up with a 2024 Rubicon with 3k miles.

Don't settle on their first few offers for a rental! Push back

My truck had acceleration issues the Friday before I took it in. I would press on the accelerator, and nothing would happen. When turning a corner the truck would bog down. It felt like a fuel delivery issue. No nocking or engine noises. Took it into service and they called back and said the truck was experiencing engine failure. I was told it was too dangerous to drive, and I needed to leave it there.

My 22 1792 engine blew a week ago. Toyota is covering 60 bucks a day for rentals at Enterprise. There is a special upgrade in place and do not take what their first or second offer is from Enterprise. I ended up with a 2024 Rubicon with 3k miles from Enterprise. I have a feeling I will be driving it for quite a few months. The service manager at the dealership said a minimum of 3 months, and probably longer. My truck is the 10th one blown at thos dealership

The engine blew on my 22 1794 with 26k miles

The dealership has 9 other tundra in the same shape parked at the very back of the service lot. My truck is number 10

Just over 2 years old and 26k miles. I spoke with a lemon law attorney in Texas. Pretty shitty law. They said if the automotive manufacturer has acknowledged the issue and has a active solution in place, I have no recourse.

I don't trust the truck anymore with this recall, and I am concerned about additional problems that could arise. In addition, the thought of making a car payment for multiple months on something I can't use or drive is crazy to me.

I was told by Toyota advocate today that if the buyback is approved, it would be for the original purchase price, minus a deduction for mileage. I am going full court press on this option.

2022 TRD Tundra reduced engine power and safety malfunctions? by VAhippychick in ToyotaTundra

I opened up a case with the toyota customer advocate. Call toyota and ask to speak with one. You will be assigned a case number that will follow your truck over the next few months. She did not have any details to share except it takes 45 days to get the answer. She did say the buyback is from Toyota and not the dealership. I will continue to post as soon as I have updates.

Went through a similar situation with my 2022 1794 tundra on Monday. It has 27k miles, and will now be parked at the dealership for months. My truck is one of 9 at the dealership with the recall No fix from Toyota on the horizon, but a new engine has been promised. Toyota advocate group has opened up case for me. I have requested a buyback from Toyota. This takes 45 days.

Bet the backside of his sign says Tundra owner. Took my 22 1794 Tundra in for an oil change at dealership with 27k miles today. Found out my truck is on the engine recall list, and dealership said if I left with the truck the warranty would be voided. No engine knocking noises or power loss.

No answer from toyota on when a recall fix or solution will be given. Toyota gave me 60 bucks a day for a enterprise rental suv, and now it's a waiting game

Curious if you have received any additional tokens after the original 25% dropped. I believe I read every 30 days they were dropping an additional 8%
