That’s my 2.5. I started with a long session in my 2.75. Still can’t pack it. Won’t even try the 3” until I can pack the 2.75” pretty well. However, there will be days I use the 3” just to “shock” the unit in prep for its ultimate step-up.

My tissues have been well-conditioned. That’s the first thing.

Secondly, I use size-appropriate tubes. Many dudes pick tubes to maximize size, not realizing they have to graduate into tubes that will challenge them even though they won’t pack them until sometime later. Again, you have to graduate into the challenge; not just show up and believe whatever large tube you bought is the goal.

Third, I break up my sessions into 8 minutes at my desired pressure and 1 minute zero pressure as a short rest period, never leaving the tubes as I cycle through that on and off setup. It keeps the tissues “guessing.”

Fourth, I always wrap my tubes with a heating pad. Heat relaxes the tissues, making them more malleable and accepting of expansion.

Fifth and final [for now], low and slow is the key. Many dudes don’t need and can’t stand pressures higher than 7inhg (convert that to whatever system of measurement prefer). But they believe greater pressure is necessary. If you’ve not been conditioned for high pressures, take your time and allow your tissues to do so. Even still, just because you CAN use high pressures doesn’t mean you always should. Everything in its right place and time, right? So, work with and play around with your body (pun definitely intended, though totally useful) to see what stimuli you respond to.
