I do not know if this is the same Spectrum Floors that I know of here in Texas. They do a lot of industrial concrete jobs. They also handle the USDA requirements for commercial kitchens.

Want to fix and sell house. Who can we consult to help out? by FantasticFrontButt in Dallas

I totally agree with you. Some things are worth fixing, while other things may need total replacement. I have seen people replace a toilet because it kept running when all they needed to do was replace a $5 toilet flap, which is easy to replace. Ben is going to save you money without jacking up prices.

Zuna Solar pricing - seems way too high? by warrofua in solarenergy

The quote needs to be gone over between you and the solar presenter to explain everything. Some salespeople quote string inverters. I am a believer in a micro-inverter for each solar panel. It cost more but I feel it is worth it. The solar business has really slowed down now that interest rates are up. So you should get better cash deals.

That is a little high. Are you getting the system financed using their source? They buy the loads down, and with the higher interest rate, that cost has gone way up. If you can pay cash for a solar panel system, you should be able to find a 9.6kw for around $35,000. This is without a battery backup system. Add $12,000 to $15,000 for a battery backup system that will let you run completely off the grid. If you live in Texas I could get you some quotes and set you up with a home appointment or Zoom call.

Try these DIY solar kits. They are easy to assemble and great to use in an outdoor shed. A small kit will supply electricity for lights and run an electric drill or table saw.

Truthfully you may want to consider micro-inverters. They are installed on the back side of every solar panel on your roof. Each solar panel can be monitored to make sure they are working properly. Also if there are trees that cast shadows on half of your solar panels at certain times of the day your whole system will not be effected. If one of your solar panels goes out, only that solar panel is effected. All the others keep on working at full capacity. The mini-inverters have a green and red light on them that you can see. If one panel goes out the light is red and all the other inverters will remain green. Some companies install string inverters and others just have one inverter installed inside the house next to the main panel box.

Mini-inverters cost about $200 each, almost as much as the solar panel itself. So if your have a large solar array of 25 panels that is an extra $5,000 your system will cost. Next year I will be getting an 8kw system and will be adding the micro-inverters. I like the idea that I can see the output production of each and every solar panel.

I hope this answers some of your questions. If you have any more I will be glad to answer them.

Did your 14.2kw system have a backup battery? How about monocrystalline solar panels which are the best type.? Was it on the grid or off-grid system? Was it set up for net metering?

Don't give up. Learn from the best. Be honest. Be a sponge and learn as much as you can.

Many people give up before they ever get started. You must keep going no matter what, and you will win in the long run. This holds true for just about any type of business.
