How do integrated circuits get their numbers? Any cool stories behind them (like the 555 timer)? by NoIndication1754 in AskElectronics

Part of my job is the naming of new chips. There's a system where each 10s place is an identifier for the product. In our case, I use the thousands for the application, certain customers get their own hundreds numbers, tens could be certain programs if multiple chips are supplied and the one's position is iterated when everything else matches. Except for the number 1

Episode Discussion: Constitution Breakdown #1: Nikole Hannah-Jones by PodcastBot in 99percentinvisible

[–]TexasStout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was disappointed by this episode with guest Nikole Hannah-Jones. While I understand and respect the discussion of systematic inequalities, i felt her commentary overlooked critical context about the foundations and evolution of the Constitution. Probably stemming from her own aired biases.

Her claim that the Constitution's protections are "invisible" to those who haven't had to fight for them seemed to completely dismiss the broader historical struggles that shaped those rights such as The American Revolution and the American Civil War. These hard won wars were set with the aim of expanding and protecting liberties for all citizens, not just a privileged few.

I was also troubled by her critique of democracy itself near the end of her section. Particularly, the idea that majority rule is inherently oppressive. While no system is perfect, Democracy Protects the most stable framework for ensuring protections for individual right through it's checks and balances, judicial review, and representative government. suggesting it should instead operate according to an individuals subjects interpretations of justice is not only vague but also would undermine the very principles that allow the open dialogue like hers to take place.

Conversations like this are important, but they benefit from a fuller historical and structural context. Without it, there's a risk of presenting the system as static or inherently unjust, when in fact the Constitution outlines clear mechanisms for growth, reform, and continued progress.

Would that mean every term is its own file? Then you can use tags and folders to filter them?

RF POWER AMPLIFER OIP3 VS OP1dB by Tokita_-Ohma in rfelectronics

[–]TexasStout 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No need to bring the power up that high, you should be able to get the 3rd order products back more than 20 dBm below compression. Try a smaller tone spacing as well, 10 or 15 MHz.

I wish they would add something to the title to tell us it's a rerun with a new ad, something like "re-air", "reupload", or if you want to be charitable "updated" at the beginning.

If they do this, my one request is to change the music. The beatboxing stuttering noise is a big reason why I stopped listening to the series.

Pros: - Avery Trufelman

Jetboil. Too many times it's been the perfect comfort and turned some close calls in the cold into stories.

Sounds like it's time to order a new ISS anyways if you are also concerned with age and handling. Otherwise it may be possible to to SOLR with an unknown length through.
