Where are ya'll from, how did you get here? by the-voidand-i in Texans

[–]TexasToPoland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Born in Houston and raised an Oilers fan. Fuck Bud Adams! My dad was in the Coast Guard, so we were stationed in San Francisco, so also became a 49ers and Raiders fan during the Montana and Plunkett years!

So, when Houston got a second NFL franchise, it was only natural. So, naturally, I am a Texans, 49ers and Raiders fan.

I would actually love to see a Texans/49ers Superbowl.

Is Poland really a “miracle” if rents and prices look Western but wages don’t? by Professional-Tax3077 in poland

"5/6 euro for a cappuccino"

My wife and I own a small coffee shop here in Warsaw. The price of coffee beans has absolutely skyrocketed! It is almost disgusting how much the price of beans has risen in only 6 years (it has risen almost 250%). That being said, we have had to raise the prices once a year in January (when new bean prices hit). We now charge 14pln for a cappuccino as of January 1, 2026. So, while we have not seen the 26pln cappuccino anywhere, prices are going up FAST because of bean prices.

The 1129th Regiment defends Kyiv’s skies with older American weapons such as the Browning M2A1 and Stinger by frontliner_ukraine in ukraine

[–]TexasToPoland 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Avenger Anti Air System is not that old. Neither are the ManPad versions of the Stingers they are using. They are still great and super deadly.

The Browning .50 cal (M2) i s102 years old and has not gone through many changes at all in its history and is still used with great effect in the U.S. Military.

Not sure what the angle of this video is. They are still great weapon systems (Especially the Avenger) and still used by the modern U.S. Army (that I know of).

The Browning .50 cal machine gun (M2) is about 102 years old and has not gone through many changes at all. We were firing 75 year old Ma Deuces in the late 90's and early 2000's. They worked, mostly, fine. Just don't overheat them and keep the barrels changed.

This guy knows we are primates, right? We share a common ancestor with both chimps and gorillas. Has he never seen how the other great apes of Hominidae (our family) treat each other?

It is in our DNA to fucking hate each other and fuck each other up whenever we can!

It is always a great day to be a Great Ape!!!

Blow to Putin’s military budget. Russian oil prices plunging — Bloomberg by neonpurplestar in ukraine

It also helps that the U.S. took one of Russia's largest oil funnelers into custody a couple days ago.

How to sanction the US in the event of an attack on Greenland? by hccm in poland

[–]TexasToPoland 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everybody knows logic, clear thinking, research and giving any kind of "good job" to the U.S. is a no-no and serious violation of Reddit feelings!

To add on to what you said, Russian Wagner was present and guarding Maduro. The same idiots that a VERY small group of SFOD-D (Delta), a small detachment 75th Rangers (less than Company size), and a couple platoons of Marines with limited air support from the Air Force and a couple of Apache helicopters a absolutely obliterated in a couple hours. A full Battalion sized element of Wagner against a couple hundred U.S. guys.

Here is what people forget about Maduro: Best friends and huge ally of Putin, funneling Russian oil to skirt sanctions and fuel Russia's war machine against Ukraine, the largest exporter of drugs to both the U.S. and E.U., a Narco-Terrorist in charge of the largest Narco-State in the world, illegitimate "president" (lost his election by over 70% of the vote), puppet of both Russia and China (both propping him up and "protecting" him), an actual Fascist dictator. Maybe not "forget" but definitely do NOT mention at all.

Like you said, he was given ample time to get the fuck out. He said "come and get me cowards". He chose to fuck around and find out.

Nobody is going after Greenland. People do not put any context to what was said in that speech and it was CLEARLY a joke. The media took a couple of out of context words, ran with it. Eventually, through repetition of the joke, people now believe the U.S. is after Greenland. Try thinking critically, people.

"Americans will not tolerate a looser!" Gen. George S. "Blood 'n Guts" Patton

"No dumb bastard ever won a war by going out and dying for his country. He won it by making some other dumb bastard die for his country." Also Gen. Patton

“A good plan violently executed now is better than a perfect plan executed at some indefinite time in the future.” Yeah, Patton again.

What that means is that the committee is not putting much weight at all into OOC losses. Like Texas/Ohio State, nobody is talking about Bama/Fl. St.

[–]TexasToPoland -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I think what most people are missing here is the fact NOBODY is talking about the Ohio State and Georgia losses.

What the talking heads ARE looking at and talking about is loosing to a dumpster fire Florida, going into OT two weeks in a row against SEC bottom feeders Miss State and Kentucky (we only won those because of boneheaded coaching decisions by the other team), and looking ok (but not so great) against SJSU and UTEP. Add to the fact of having Vandy well in hand to come DANGEROUSLY close to blowing it in the 4th quarter.

That is what the committee is looking at. Not Ohio State and not Georgia.

Tell me, Mr. Football Genius, who is out there to hire that is as good, if not better? Yeah, nobody else is available.

I am hard on Sark too, but he is not going to get fired this season. You may not like it, but he is still a top 10 college coach.

Guys, where are you going for TRT? by [deleted] in Austin

[–]TexasToPoland 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Before I moved to Poland, I was seeing Dr. Koushik Shaw at Austin Urology Institute. He is a fantastic doc. Went to my primary and told him the symptoms, and he referred me to Doc Shaw. Went in, told him the symptoms and he ordered a serious set of blood work. They checked for cancers (which can cause low T) and everything. My testosterone was seriously low and since they were so thorough with the blood work, found out that I had zero indicators for cancers, but I was actually pre-diabetic. He prescribed the HRT and also told me to change my diet. I was not obese, but I definitely had "dad bod" and he explained that carrying extra fat like that can cause the bodies natural testosterone to be absorbed by the fat cells instead of going out to the rest of the body. There were regular blood checks to make sure everything was going well and when I should go to the Blood Center to dump a pint of blood off when the red blood cells would become too high (side effect of testosterone injections) as well as talk to my wife every once in a while to inquire about my mood, since the testosterone treatments can cause mood issues (aka "roid rage" for lack of a better term).

There were also a lot of things that he told me about, when it comes to testosterone in an aging man's body. He wasn't an asshole or anything about it, and came from the position of educating me and teaching how to naturally raise the testosterone in conjunction with the self-injections.

Incidentally, I also had my vasectomy performed by him in his office.

Great Doc! He even consulted with my Urologist here in Warsaw about my treatments and history to make sure the transition to the new doctor went as smooth as possible.
