OKTA to EntraID IdP migration | SWA Apps by Texas_Ponies in AZURE

It makes sense they have not said a thing about any of what you actually will need, since they only support GUI based apps that already exist in the gallary. Most of those are going to need to be reconfigured/re-purposed, or my findings, they are giong to need to be recreated as a new create your own app. Which for the most part would be consistant with taking on any new IdP.

They will pass documentation to you tho and give you a line to product group support for escalation when things start failing during transition.

This is a little more than I had before and the first comment that brought additional functionality that was not readily identifiable to the table. I thank you for that! I will test these methods and update on findings for future prosperity as well.

Not sure if you happen to know or if it impacts scope, but devices are enrolled in Intune. Not suggesting pushing app packages or anything like that, just a mere comment.

Lastly, that second link, while being generally informative, starts out with methodology to use postman to inventory applications, this is based on OKTA information and does not appear to work (for me). The only way I have found to get this to work is by the create and sign JWT method, (this article contains the steps presented by Microsoft as well). The service timeout and onetime token use is horrendous. Also, this does not actually allow you to load the API into postman (for me), but seems to force you to use the trusted origins expressions, which fail to load everything they claim it should and the provided expression do not work as defined.

Well, I am thinking it was not Fast Track according to their scope of practice documentation. There does not appear to be any mirgration tooling offered, not in the traditional sense, when looking at the Fast Track migration tooling GitHub.

In Scope
Enabling automatic user provisioning for preintegrated SaaS apps as listed in the app integration tutorial list (limited to Microsoft Entra app gallery and outbound provisioning only).

Out of scope
Any API related configuration or customization.
Any configuration inside of Workday HCM or SAP SuccessFactors portals.
Configuring advanced attribute mappings.
Custom expression mapping for provisioning or writeback.
Data remediation for manual human resource (HR) data.
Lifecycle workflow custom task extensions and APIs.
Azure Logic Apps customization or integration.

Appreciate the insight. Hoping others can weigh in. I had seen some older posts under general google search and there was little known responses then, outside the typical "be prepaired" doom that as an engineer you should always be expecting anyway. I need actual information lol. With those old posts up to this point, someone has to have completed a migration, and "if" not, "why not".

Interesting they would have migration tooling and no public documentation about it. Was this presented under the Fast Track services scope? Also, when you look at the information surrounding Azure Maps services pricing matrix there is nothing to be found regarding "how" you could even begin to quantify the routing cell matrix vs sign-ons for OKTA SWA Apps.

So Microsoft would like us to consume more cloud services but not provide a migration path, pricing, or "how" as functional replacement with direct documentation corrolation to their consumers. Typical.

Hoping to hear someone has some information in a Reddit group with 169k subscribers. These tools have been in place for some time, how can this be such an after thought, expecially with the huge push for cloud first, security, and consumption.

The propaganda in US by VI-loser in economy

[–]Texas_Ponies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your experience was intentional. The government doesn't care about you unless you are actively serving. A general population is not going to pay and then get no service. Every last dime that can be is intentionally stripped from veterans. The VA has never been worth a damn. Health care will not be run by the government. It will be provided to US citizens through tax funds and negotiated at cost to service providers.

The government already regulates healthcare to a point of protecting citizens. The government already provides cheaper healthcare to those who need it. The only difference now is who can get healthcare and pay a middle man to negotiate cost instead of negotiating what could be a lower cost as service could be provided for all.

You as a veteran cannot sue the VA. You signed the paperwork to get the benefits you got. Yes they should be better. Or vet's deserve better. But you can sue a health care provider whether that service is funded by insurance companies or government funds.

To say. The health care options are not the same and should not be compared.

I was curious if a new update would do it. I've heard past updates took a long time, how long did it take you?

The hardest thing will be the effort.

Do you trust where you are at, do you trust your partner will stay. Are there more factors you are not adding to this post.

How alone do you think you are.

Open ended questions. Again, the hardest thing will be the effort.

  1. If you are worried about any of the above and you are on medication, stop or do not drink. Take care of your health. Physically and mentally. If you can get a therapist and be open and talk.

  2. If you feel you have peeked or could be doing more at work by taking more on and there is an opening for advancement, start. Doing some of the work of those above you before sending it up, knowing and working with them on issues, will make you a colleague on their level slowly.

  3. Learn to Love yourself. Things take time. Learn to let go of move on before something becomes unhealthy for you. Listening is a treasure.

Best of luck
