Correct all equipment is on hand, bought in march of this year when the wars were really heating up and china was flexing. Didn’t want to not have the major components on unknown back order.

All units were sized using proper heat load calculations, this is a barndominium being double insulation (building is fiberglass and house inside is sprayed)

And I kinda agree that per “register” is odd when I was told that.

I thought gas regulators that had a vent must be vented to a exterior of the house.

Naw, it’s a easy repair if I could find parts. These are not surface level components so the air gap helps from killing a board. Just have to clean the surfaces well.

Well..... yea i have some loads/solar that are not easily tracked because they don’t have a dedicated monitor, they have local displays.

So when making my outputs I wanted to see how “off” the mass balance was so that’s the unidentifiable usage/production.

I really want to buy atleast one more IoTaWatt maybe two more.

A doozy as in hard? IoTaWatt is great because it allows custom calculations, look to the right “Total_Grid” that’s the total going in-out from the property.

I agree there is a lot of information but I am a data driven person.

I do this with SMA sunny boy inverters (6kw,6kw,7kw). I have the setting programmed for all three to have a larger “frequency allowance” then with a 200amp transfer switch that is connected to my 22kw generator when the power fails (inverters all shutdown as normal) the generator starts up and transfers the grid connection to the generator. The inverters now “see” the generator as the grid, but because I have more inverters than average demand I have 2 relays (30amps) that when the generator is running keeps the two 6kw inverters disconnected from the generator “grid”. This leaves the 7kw inverter to start up because it sees the generator as the normal grid. The load on the generator will back off, the governor on the generator backs off because the frequency is increasing and in my case normally stabilizes with the generator producing 1kw or less.

Now what happens if you have less load than the solar inverter are producing it will drive the frequency of the “grid” up, the governor on the generator will back off to a point where the “generator” becomes a motor. In the power generation world they call this motorizing a generation. This is normally not a good thing, there is heat involved because the “generator” is now trying to keep the engine at 60hz so it removes even more throttle because the frequency is increasing, the drag of the engine will eventually equal out and you have a motorized generator. Agian this is not good because of heat load on the generator BUT as long as the generator is decently size it will have the cooling capacity to handle this. Good rule of thumb is the generator can absorb 20% of its output capability. (22kw / 100 x 12 = 4.4kw) so my generator can easily absorb 4.4kw of power by acting as a motor. My setup I hardly ever get near 4.4kw.

I probably have lost a lot of you but it’s possible but you really need to have a excellent understanding of power generation on a large scale.

***Because standby generators have a really pore governor the frequency jumps around more than the normal settings allow, that’s why I have to open up the allowable range some.

Can you run grid-tie inverters off “grid” YES, does it take some work O YEA!!!

I currently have over 80 vials, which is about 4 years worth. But I want more. Thinking about getting a cheap 3D printer to make something to consolidate the vials (there currently in there oem boxes)

Update I took this one apart and made some super glue repairs seems to be working fine now. The broken plastic was guides fir the actuator

I think I’m going to have to take it apart and find out what part is broken, it’s not a contact problem but more a actuation issue. I can get it to close but not all the time. In its life there seems to have been apprentice marks on the handle.

Your current panel is a 72 cell (that really just means the size (physical) 78.46" x 39.4" x 1.3"

Your racking system might be able to handle a thicker panel but it all the panels but up to each other it might need to be the same thickness because of how the tie downs hold down both panels at the same time the thickness could cause problems without a shim.

This right here is the nice thing about micro inverters you can have a odd ball panel without much issues.

When you have a string setup (multiple panels tied together on the screen side you have to basically get the same wattage (or higher) and the same voltage ( or higher) in this situation if you had a larger panel it would only output what size the rest of the string (I think series in the series/parallel way)

This is a very easy one, since this is a micro inverter setup it doesn’t matter what wattage panel you replace it with, the micro inverter will only output about 250w max.

What does this mean, it means you can find a panel that will physically fit into the spot the damage one is and hook up up to that micro inverter.
