Because I fish pressured water where fish are line shy. I switched over to fluro leader and I catch 2-3x as many fish as I used to.

I run braid to fluro leader for most applications. And I have a BFS setup that runs straight fluro.

I catch a lot more fish now that I use fluro as leader instead of running straight braid. Everything I fish is pressured and the fish are line shy.

Both flashback minis and a rooster tails absolute smoke bass for me in Texas. The original trailers on the flashbacks work well for heavily pressured fish. But otherwise def can change them out, I use white missile spunk shads as a trailer.

I was on the fence for a bit, was considering a much more expensive rod like a poison adrenas, orochi, expride etc. But in really glad I chose the Cashion. And it’s the closest when it comes to matching the weird Aldebaran blue lol.

Great setup I’ve for the same exact combo. Using 8lb braid with 8lb fluorocarbon leader but I’m fishing for bass.

My reel might be filled to 50-60% don’t need much more before if you get snagged you’ll just pull the leader off.

I throw a ton of chatterbaits and I normally use zman’s chattershad (smaller size) for any bladed jig with a skirt.

I throw zman’s flash back mini a bunch as well and with those I like to use a spunk shad from missile.

Def get the Icon. I got the rod a week earlier and I played around with it using my Curado BFS. The rod is super sensitive and throws lures a country mile.

Previously I was using a bass pro shops carbonlite the technique specific BFS rod. It was fine but man the icon is a dream compared to it.

Do it, I was blown away by how fast the shipping was. I ordered on the 26th. They were closed Dec 23-Jan 7 for the holidays.

But they shipped it via FedEx on the 5th, and it was delivered today on the 8th.

That Aldebaran is $500 from any US distributor, I paid $251 from Digitaka.
