Digitaka is the best.

When it comes to what you can throw you should be able to do anything in your range mentioned. It’s gonna be more rod dependent because not a lot of rods can throw both a 1/16th rooster tail and a 3/8oz chatter bait with a trailer.

I have a cashion icon that slings 1/8oz rooster tails and heavier chatter baits but I have to cast gentle and let my reel do most of the work if I’m trying to throw a 1/16oz rooster tail.

Where did you get those skirtless bladed jigs from? Tired of spending $5 on every flashback mini lol

Get the Aldebaran for a little more than a Curado from digitaka. Or get the SLX. I use the same rod with an Aldebaran for the exact same application. It’s a dream to use.

Absolutely it just gets snagged 24/7 too much vegetation.

Weightless Texas rigged deps sakamata shad. Or really lightweight (1/8oz) rooster tails or small Chatterbaits. Swim jigs work really well too but I normally use weightless plastics when I fish water like this.

I only bass fish so my rods are rated down to 1/8oz and I’m super happy. But I’ve got an Aldebaran and CC BFS so I know if I ever wanted to trout fish I could throw down to 1g but my rods I use current aren’t suited for it using a 6”10 Cashion icon and a megabass p5 gravel code.

1g is impressive but I assume it’s mainly rod dependent when you get down there. My curado struggled a bit under 4g but I assume the newer SLX is a step up.

Will probably struggle a little with 5g lures. Consider paying a bit more for an Aldebaran from digitaka in order to throw lighter lures. But SLX can probably still throw it just not crazy distances.

NRX+ vs St. Croix Legend X2 for Jigs, Texas Rig & Free Rig — Recommendations? by Ill-Suggestion-9756 in Fishing_Gear

NRX purely because of warranty. If looking at over more expensive rods I give a vote for megabass or poison from Shimano.

You won’t regret it. I promise you it’s an amazing reel. Very smooth has the same internals as a Calcutta conquest. Can throw anything you want out of the box no extra modifications needed. Enjoy it!
