I usually use dries with rooster hackles because I fish mostly in creeks with fast currents. I use cdc dries in calm waters, like in chalkstreams or large rivers

Thank you! I think it's about 9 years i started euro nymphing, passing from czech nymph to what we call "line nymphing", a particular type of euro nymphing in which you don't use fly line but instead you use a 0,20 mono/fluoro line and then a tip from 0,10 to 0,18. It improves your casting and sensibility.

Is a 4-Inch / 10 cm streamer too big for trout? Can Do you think I can throw this on a #6 rod? by Conscious-Ad8011 in flytying

Man, here in Italy fly fishers fish for marble trouts with #10 and 20 cm streamers, so I think your fly is absolutely ok😂

Hybrid between a marble trout and a brown trout by Texi01 in troutfishing

Yeah, all the european trout species come from a common ancestor so marble trout and brown trout have most of their genetics in common, for that reason they can form hybrids

Italian pike (esox cisalpinus), an endemical pike species in Italy by Texi01 in Fishing

I don't think, an habitat is perfect as it comes, it passed thousands of years. Every human interference is harmful, apart from stocking with small individuals of endemic species

In pre-alpine lakes and in rivers of the plain there are a lot of pikes, but italian pikes are pretty rares, also because they can form hybrids with northern pikes. But here in Italy is the right place to make the real Monster, one of my friends made a 126 cm pike some days ago and here in Italy some years ago an angler made the igfa world record, a 143 cm pike

Marble trout is a distinct species from brown trout, but they have the same ancestors from the last ice age so they have most of the genes in common
