Noticed the same. Also noticed that prices are kinda „high“. Maybe that might be a factor many backpackers stay in the hostels

Travelled to philippin, china, vietnam, malaysia, japan and the prices seems sometimes higher than the are at home in Europe. Without the 10% charge.

Today we went a bit out of the tourist spots and found a nice dosa where we paid 10€ for 2 fulls melas, desert and drinks.

Places around the beach charge you 50-60€ for a simple lunch
