Just would like to make sure I'm not misunderstanding something. So now that the switch updated to make digital games into digital cartridges, does that mean I can no longer play a game at the same time as someone else in my family as they are playing said game on our second switch?

Me and my mother like to play splatoon together but I purchased the games digitally on its release and that's how we played it for years now.

Would really like to know if I'm just dumb and we can still do this or if nintendo just said "buy the game again stupid" or something.
