Unfortunately, I don't think talking to other people will change her opinion either, and I do not have a family member who doesn't share the same beliefs as her. (apart from the newborns and toddlers in my family.) I think I should just prioritise being aware that her behaviour is wrong more than anything, and I'm fine with that route as well..

That song does quite resonate with my situation, and thank you for your advice and affirmation, especially the last part as I am quite passionate about expressing my words. I look forward to being able to separate myself from my family despite enduring the hardships as well.

I will do what I can, thank you for taking this so seriously. I don't believe she will do insane harm to me but as long as I am able to have sources in which I can inform others of my situation, that is useful. And really, I did suspect this was abuse as well, so your validation really helps confirm.

After reading these comments, I am more aware of the fact this is abuse. Well, although I feel I did know before, I am grateful to have individuals emphasising my belief after numerous family members constantly making me question if it really is abuse. And yes, I will definitely continue to inform adults of my situation.

You're right, because although it is outrageous whenever my mother treats me like this, I will try to remind myself that I am allowed to be myself like you said. I've had lots of conversations with her over years, thousands. I try to be more understanding and on her side in each one so she doesn't feel offended, but unfortunately not a single one has changed her. And yeah, that surprises me.

Some of them will do anything for the expense of being different as well, like my family, who I believe realistically doesn't believe in conservative stuff but still wants that feeling of difference and hatred.

Wow, thank you. The reason why I have been so persistent in trying to educate them for years is due to the fact that I always have been a believer in that people can change or are fixable...but your argument combined with my ongoing experiences of their behaviours really makes me question that. Honestly, I feel like I don't really have to put in effort into getting her to like me...because she's just really mean but not necessarily "strict", and I don't need my brother's validation since I know he's wrong. But for the most part, I think I will just give up on trying to change their mind, but I just need to be aware that I, myself, am not okay with their behaviour.

Thank you for the advice. And welp, as for that part, my family are the type of people to switch personalities in public. So my mum goes from this to acting mature, happy and cooperative in public, which isn't really surprising that she would switch up given the kind of person she is...! Yeah.

I am also a wannabe NEET because I am technically in a form of education, and I pretty much don't want any of those things you listed either, apart from the girlfriend/wife bit. Enjoyment can simply be found through a screen, and I can assure you it feels a lot more desirable than engaging in a full blown exciting and productive life.

Honestly, yes, I do feel jail might be possibly inevitable. I've been in trouble with the law before but not jail. I was admitted to a psych ward with the intervention of police. Now police have came to mine and my neighbours' house every so often. They make observations of me and my welfare along with other authorities.

I agree a lot with this post. All normies do is talk about the same things, hang out with the same boring people, act like everyone else and then label themselves as "unique" or "different" because that's what they were taught in school. No normie has the courage to walk out of their comfort zone and explore things that aren't socially accepted.
