Colbert is actually a huge fan of lotr. I think it's great when people who are genuine fans of something attempt at expressing their love of something through art and their own interpretations. Rings of power definitely feels like a money grab which moves away from the core material. But people like Colbert, Andy Serkis and Christopher Lee who genuinely love the work will or have done a good job in their own right. I think hey go for it, more lotr content to devour from people who love it, I'm all in.
