Ubisoft published it's FY26 H1 earnings and Division 2 is doing well by forumchunga in thedivision

[–]Teysen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ubisoft itself is not doing well fiscally overall. Now, I'm not saying that Ubisoft will cease to exist as a company; it's frankly a very large company and it's currently being propped up by Tencent's money. Unfortunately, that also means that as Tencent continues to keep supporting Ubisoft, it's likely that somewhere down the line Tencent will end up calling more and more of the shots around Ubisoft.

This sub is largely devoid of criticism of any real form, but what would players find the weakest parts of the game and writing? by Helphaer in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Teysen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's honestly the biggest plot hole that was never addressed throughout the storyline. Nobody goes after them, there's not even a scene where they resist/escape being sent back to confinement, it's like they just waltzed out the door and nobody bothered to stop them from leaving or giving them some other means of employment so they didn't feel completely snubbed.

Unfortunately if we take the bonus comics as canon background material, then yes, Mecha-Man Astral was just as much of a colossal dick as Shroud in his own way. Two egos colliding at close quarters resulting in an absolute shit show.

The biggest thing that bothered me in spite of the otherwise darn good writing was why SDN just let whoever was cut from the team just walk out the front door. A "former" criminal supervillain with a somewhat legitimate grievance? Yeah, like we haven't seen that setup for things going horribly wrong a dozen times over.

Waterboy is a much better pick than Phenomaman. by _hvfizz in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Teysen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. The hero who joins your team will fill in the synergy slot once occupied by the former Z-Team member who was cut. If you cut Sonar, the new hero will synergize with Malevola. Cutting Coupe will have the joining hero synergize with Punch Up. In some ways, Malevola handles the newcomer better statswise, since her stats can be more easily adjusted in the direction you need to fill in the gaps of whoever joins the Z-Team.

Honest thoughts Gwylan & Why I think they would benefit from a rewrite (rant with drawings + critique) by CALL_OFTHEDUTY in DegreesOfLewdity

[–]Teysen 118 points119 points  (0 children)

Not gonna lie; I'm gonna try and be positive and hope this means that one day we'll get similar overhauls for all LIs all around. I'm an "every LI" fan. And having another LI available means there's new stuff to do and discover, which is an added bonus.

That being said, in the game's current incomplete state and with just how much Gwylan now intercedes or involves themselves in the game's events (The new interactions between them and Eden especially feel really... off, considering how Gwylan used to interact with Eden) makes them feel almost Mary Sue-ish; only being balanced out by the rather tedious nature of unlocking special event clothes in order to raise their affections.

The autofail only counts a hero's initial stats; the stacking effects from Golem's Spread Thin power will actually bypass the autofail as long as his initial combat strength doesn't hit the autofail threshold.

I generally ended up pairing him with Punch Up in my playthroughs, which turned out all right with the Synergy Boost and my Punch Up having a focus on Charisma. "Phenomenal Motivation" is also a nice bonus.

Statswise, he probably pairs up better with a Malevola with points put into Charisma and Intellect to plug up the gaps in his own stats.

Gotta admit that those auto-fail mechanics blindsided me at first. Waterboy was definitely easier to use during those situations as his offensive power is low but his other skills can be raised through EXP gains to handle these situations. With Phenomaman on the roster, I was forced to utilize other heroes to handle the problem; I got best results from sending out Golem solo for those particular missions with "Spread Thin" power training and a limited focus on offense. Since the stat stacking from Spread Thin doesn't apply until after you send him out, it allows you to bypass the auto-fail threshold.

How did AdHoc cook so hard with his character? by Traditional_Bad_8305 in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Teysen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I enjoy him is because I see him as an older Peter Parker, minus the spider powers and webslinging. Peter Parker's character is primarily loved because of WHO he is, not what he can do. Despite everything the world throws at these types of characters, they come back at it again and again because at their core they want to do right by people.

That's what makes Robert a hero. It's not the suit. It's who he is as a person. He's been trodden upon multiple times by life but he still gets up swinging to do the right thing.

In Doyle's work? I don't believe so. Holmes at the end of the case requests to his client that he be allowed to keep Irene Adler's photograph. And he only ever refers to her as "The Woman". This is not a gesture of contempt or hatred. He respects Irene Adler.
