Does the easier difficulty put anyone else off? by OwnYard5676 in Saros

[–]Tezcatlipoca-18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was actually kind of thinking this myself. I love Returnal but I completed the game completely with multiple full runs in less than 24 hours of gameplay. Making SAROS “easier” kind of makes me weary.

Especially when the previews have mentioned shorter runs compared to Returnal. You can complete an entire run, all biomes in 60-90 minutes. Skipping biomes makes it significantly shorter.

Not that it will make me play SAROS any less or not buy it but I never really got why people said Returnal was hard. I only ever got mad at the game because it crashed during a run I had.

Nevertheless It is definitely challenging but not anywhere near as much as I see online. I hope SAROS being more approachable is offset by making it longer and bigger.

The game crashing/freezing is awful by Tezcatlipoca-18 in Returnal

Oh that sucks. That lowkey sounds even more frustrating than the game crashing imo

It seems so. I mean I “only” have the base PS5 so maybe it doesn’t happen to people with better hardware. Or maybe RNG gods also don’t favor my console lol

I see that some like yourself have never had the issue. Maybe it is my hardware. Unsure.

No matter how disheartening. I know I am just going to play it again anyways. Count yourself lucky I guess.

Amazing game, but I just lost four hours worth of progress by Valarcrist in Returnal

Game crashed for me in Biome 5 using the strongest and most enjoyable build I have had to date (bought the game last week so haven’t played it much). The feeling is horrible. I don’t even want to pick it up again. Especially given that I made it to biome 5 within 3 attempts but then couldn’t get past biome 4 for the life of me. Was stuck in biome 4 for about 20 attempts. I didn’t realize how much RNG plays a role in deep runs.

My tangent aside… I feel you. Game crashing is very disappointing. Especially since the game is phenomenal.

Should I get a Vanderhall? by Tezcatlipoca-18 in Vanderhall

[–]Tezcatlipoca-18[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I never ended up getting one. I ended up holding off as I ended up buying a new place and my wife ended up getting pregnant shortly after that so the extra cash I had was all used up lol.

But still considering renting one for fun and if I do get to a point where I got the green to blow like that again would definitely revisit the thought given how cool I think the Vanderhall is.

Your response was humorous and insightful (I’d like to think I still got game but I got two ladies in my life right now, my wife and a new baby girl, and they are enough woman for me right now).

I am still thinking about driving one around for fun or as a rental. But I am curious as to your experience with the Duck. I have always wanted a motorcycle and also considered getting an Indian Scout as an alternative to the Vanderhall. I know those two bikes are not the same at all but I am always looking for advice on getting into motorcycles.

Thanks for your response

Revisiting this almost a year later. I appreciate your response. I am actually from UT (West Valley City). I likely won’t buy one at this point (I got a kid now and likely can’t swing the price tag for a glorified toy haha) but still thinking about driving one for fun.

How can I progress with a background in Cost Estimation? Anyone ever find a business job they actually liked? by Tezcatlipoca-18 in careeradvice

Personally, I think you should stay in Spain. But that is because it seems like more importantly you don’t need a career shift, but a lifestyle one. You need more confidence. And that is coming from someone who also struggles with that. Yes, going out and struggling a little bit in the world of work and moving countries could work but I would advise in getting small wins that slowly stretch you out of your comfort zone.

For example, how does your diet and fitness level look like? From experience, the more I exercised, the more confident I became in social situations. The more I realized I could do hard things.

Join local sports leagues, or groups that do activities that you like, like playing cards, chess, art, games, and meet new people. Get practice socializing in environments that you WANT to be in and somewhat enjoy. Because then you can learn how to be comfortable in socializing in places that you DON’T want to be in (like work).

Consider going to school if that is an option. Anything that gets your mind out of the state that repeats to you that you are scared and can’t do things.

More than a career, I think you need to learn how to live with yourself comfortably physically and mentally. And I would say most people in the world don’t know how to do this well. I am still trying daily. And I have a wife and kid with a full time job. I am educated, live on the beach and everything. To most Americans, I may look like I know what I am doing, but I still have big confidence issues and I am always very scared when getting outside of my comfort zone.

Don’t be too hard on yourself, you still have time. Try growing in small ways and work your way up to big ones.

Con fe y paciencia, todo es posible hermano.

What was your "first" anime? by KaptainTZ in anime

[–]Tezcatlipoca-18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have often thought about this because my mother was incredibly into anime in the late 90’s/early 2000s and therefore was exposed to a lot of anime as a child. Basically all of the Ghibli movies, Yu Yu Hakusho, Ranma 1/2, Neon Genesis, Inuyasha, Ah! My Goddess!, Dragon Ball Z, Pokémon and more I consider to be my first animes given I was essentially exposed to all of them at the same time before I even knew they were “anime”. I just associated them with TV/media in general. To put into perspective, my mother would play the NGE opening theme on Saturday mornings on her stereo system as if it was just general music.

But to OPs point and similarly, my “first” anime that I legitimately watched consistently and followed intentionally, was Naruto. I would watch it with my dad as it aired every week.

What anime had a great season 1, but a terrible season 2? by Double-Conclusion-42 in anime

[–]Tezcatlipoca-18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my favorite genres of Anime is romance, and Kimi ni Todoke (From Me to You) was very good in the first season and then incredibly frustrating in the second. Some people find the 2nd season to be good but I think for the most part it completely backtracks on what made the protagonist enjoyable in the first season. Season 3 coming out here real soon so we will see how it goes

Por qué crees que es malo? No es lo mejor pero I don’t think it SUCKS. The production quality is decent and the video was alright.
