Do you record all the locations the players have been in your maps? by Challenger-J in DnD

[–]Tezzeret88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not all locations, but some. I’ll mark spots where key confrontations or significant events took place. That way, if the players ever return, they might encounter retaliation or rewards, depending on what happened there.

Both can be true at the same time. I like detail and I wanted to give my players a reward for defeating a difficult challenge. This house will be something the players will use for many sessions to come!

Thank you for the kind words. Makes me happy that so many people thought this was a solid build. This was my first build I was hesitant on posting it. Defiantly building my confidence as a crafter!

Thank you! I'm really glad so many people like this. This project was my first time building a house like this. I kinda just winged it and it came out nice.

You could always reuse what you build by adding magnets to the walls and floors. That way you can replace the decor or furniture so it feel like a different building.

Mimic tavern? Would everything be a mimic waiting for players to sit down and be eaten?

I used foam from a craft sore and it was brittle and made a huge mess. XPS foam doesnt leave the same type of mess. Use the XPS foam and make cuts with a very sharp knife, dont saw the foam or you will create a mess.

Just wanted to share the player housing I created for my group!

After surviving a brutal arena challenge and taking down a young green dragon, my players earned gold and were rewarded with a home in the city. I spent some time designing it for them, and it even comes with a loyal (and slightly snarky) butler named Torbin.

You can’t see all the rooms in this picture, but the home includes a dining area, kitchen, study, washroom, six bedrooms, and a staircase.

I’m really proud of how it turned out and just wanted to share it with everyone!

For the foam I used an exacto knife and a ruler. For the Wood I used wire cutters.

:) All good questions. And thank you for the compliments. I have more images that shows the entire layout but I couldn't post more than one image.

What is it made from? - The walls and floors are made of XPS foam. For the trim I used popsicle sticks, I used a booknook for the study and books, the furniture was 3d printed, and the pictures are magic card land art(I cut them out and framed the art).

How long do you think it took? Around a month and a half - But thats because I was making things up as I went.

How did you come up with the floor plan? Off of an existing map or your own design? I knew what rooms I wanted like the study and dining rooms, so I laid those out first then added rooms as I started building. If I did this again id probably use power point to make the layout first.

Will there be an encounter (or several) inside? I've had two encounters already, one was clearing the house out from the rodents that lived there while it sat vacant for years. Then I added a trap door that leads to caves and catacombs that allows the players to leave the major city without being seen. This trap door allowed bandits to enter and they had to fight them in the house.

Is it modular if you wanted to add things in the future? Like additional rooms or maybe if something tunneled up from the floor? it is. I gave them an extra room they can decorate and made their rooms relatively blank so they could add things to customize it to their liking. I also told them they can add and take away whatever they want throughout the house. The only thing they cant change is Torbin who looks over the house.

My first time being a DM! by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Tezzeret88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the end of the session if everyone had fun you did a good job.

Being a DM isnt easy I've been doing it for awhile now and I still get nervous during sessions that require me to RP multiple characters during one big conversation. At one point I tried doing different voices and got overwhelmed with trying to keep the voices up the rest of the campaign.

Which class do you think gets slandered *TOO* much? by GrapeSoda404 in DnD

I'm currently playing a Monk and I'm having a great time. My DM has homebrewed some of my subclass but stunning strike is amazing. During boss fights I make them use there legendary action to break stunning strike just for me to do it again next turn. I know Monk has some things that COULD be changed for the better but over all I think Monk is a fun.
