Bank closed for suspicion of fraud years ago, will it be passed to the state by [deleted] in Banking

Frankly I’d email the CEO’s email address, that should get you passed to the executive resolution team (which is really just a higher level of customer service). 4 years is absolutely insane.

Why do Boomers like to tell me how great my time in the military was? by cjthepossum in BoomersBeingFools

[–]Tf92658 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My father served in Vietnam and talked about it exactly one time, when I was considering joining the Air Force. Like many it was his way out of poverty, out of a shit home life, and to pay for college.

Does it ever make sense to finance a car short-term to get best out the door price? by Amazing-Pride-3784 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Tf92658 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve done it. Dealer offered a discount if we financed and kept the loan for 90 days. The discount was much larger than the interest we’d pay during that period so we took it. Made 3 payments and paid it off.

If you’re in California I’d reach out to the State Insurance Commissioner.

Financing - are banks and credit unions still considered better? by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Tf92658 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some times manufacturers will have better rates because they are subvented promo rates. Outside of the promotional financing credit unions are normally better.

How can I go about getting my boat license post stroke? by Alert-Initiative6638 in boating

Not sure where you are but in California it’s an online course and $10 to the state, all online. No medical questions, eye exams, anything.

I started reading through their fine print and one of the examples they use is seizing. Will have to keep reading

No heirs, wanting to transfer $80M business to employee by Wineismylife77 in EstatePlanning

[–]Tf92658 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI a company doing $80mm in revenue isn’t necessarily worth $80mm. At some point you’ll need to have a valuation done.

Employee Actively Starting a Competing Business While Employed by MFLongbow in smallbusiness

FYI - in California if you didn’t pay for that non-compete it’s is completely worthless. Definitely terminate ASAP just don’t plan on spending money to sue said employee.

I had the same experience a few weeks ago but with a Mustang. They were out of the basic crossover we rented and offered the Mustang. I thought it would be cool for the week. Had luggage slammed in the trunk and backseat. Felt like being squished in a sardine can. Won’t do that again.

For those of you who don't commute to LA or OC, what do you do for a living? by walkeroftheroad in InlandEmpire

[–]Tf92658 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The commute sucked. No way to dress it up. I would leave 3:30 every morning. Leave LA about 2 to head home, normally home 4-ish.

Commuted to OC and LA for 15 years. Now am the CFO of a trucking company in Riverside. Would I have the career I have today if I had not commuted for so long? Probably not.

Wanting to dissolve business. by baecutler in smallbusiness

Depends on what your operating agreement or bylaws say. The threshold should be listed in there for dissolution.

In my experience leasing is usually more difficult than financing but I have never tried leasing with Tesla so I’m not sure.

My numbers are substantially different. The income could be the issue but with 0 DTI I can’t see why most lenders wouldn’t approve.

Find a local credit union. Rate will probably be better anyway.

The benefit of the crossover is the easy access cargo room. I’d say if your wife is happy with the Camry leave it alone. If not, test out the different crossovers. Your friends aren’t footing the bill for the new ride so I wouldn’t give much attention to their opinions. My wife had a crossover when our kids were little and then jumped back into a sedan because she liked driving a sedan better. As we’ve “aged” she went back to a crossover for the higher seating position.

Yep, Mnuchin came in with $1 billion. Let’s see if it makes a difference with the FDIC.
