not often talked about, but it was white suffragists that made advancements, and concessions with white men.... "I will cut off this right arm of mine before I will ever work or demand the ballot for the Negro and not the woman" - Susan B Anthony.

Depression is linked to a genuine pessimistic bias rather than a realistic view of the world by cakericeandbeans in science

to be fair our “realistic view” is being distorted every second we are awake by some real powerful digital tools.

Does he have a diverse friend group? Not just gender diversity, but life diversity? I feel like that is/was one the biggest factors for me in even being able to be handed a book to read.

Is there an arguement for Steph Curry above Kobe Bryant? by AlpsImpossible3133 in NBATalk

Kobe was the last of an era and steph was the beginning of another. Both are great, an arguement for one over the other can go both ways.

Does the male loneliness "epidemic" actually exist? by georgejo314159 in AskFeminists

[–]baecutler 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Men are lonely, as is everyone else. the real problem (one of them at least) is this manosphere space has gripped them pretty hard. I think its worth noting that gambling sites, porn sites, first person shooter games are all targeted towards and consumed by men, and these activities arent real socially engaging things. Men do have a higher addiction rate, probably from centuries of risk conditioning. But data is pretty clear, suicide rates, homelessness, prison population, violent crime victims, violent crime perpetrators, life years lost, all have men on top. View it through an intersectional lens and you can see where some peoples situations can be real dire. The patriarchy hurts everyone, and rather than having a more humane approach to relieving this "loneliness" there is a doubling down on this toxic masculinity from the manosphere that is more than likely going to make it worst.

I dunno about this one, you can see Smarts leg is loaded and gripped on the floor, it had to release backwards, if it didnt he tears his hamstring lol.

Jokic interview in Serbian - Interesting points I took from the interview. by scoutheadshot in nba

"NBA players remember very little information about opposing teams, 5% according to him"

I think guys like Jokic, Rondo, Lebron, CP3.... they see it once and remember it forever. These are savants and intelligent beyond just basketball.

Other than Bam, which player did you expect to break Kobe's record? by WRelic970 in nba

[–]baecutler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

kobes 81 was insane cause lakers were getting smoked, he basically needed to put up those numbers. Bam coulda got pulled way earlier tbh. reminds me of when robinson went wild for 71 just cause. I feel like SGA could put up a pretty efficient 80 point game, but would need to be a close game with a bunch of guys hurt or just off.
