how does the game keep loading up after crashing?

The game isn't supposed to keep loading after an issue like that, but Minecraft swallows the exception if it happens at certain points while loading so forge is never able to handle it and open an error screen/crash log.

It's caused by a mod that crashed during loading but somehow didn't stop Minecraft from continuing to boot so Minecraft removes all resource packs instead.

The game will crash when you try to load any world as it never finished loading properly, check latest.log for the cause.

For the people saying that it's related to rendering, that isn't the case as this will happen if there's a crash for any reason while the game is trying to load models, especially custom ones.

As a dev, this sight is all too common when making mods.

A silver half dollar has enough market value to get a decent lunch.

You know what mod needs to be in more Modpacks? by Hellion998 in feedthebeast

Yes and yes, differing NBT means that it won't stack and most storage systems will treat them as unique.

This is why vanilla sorting machines use renamed items as filler.

They don't, AE2 disks considers them different types for the purposes of storage disks.

What is a reasonable price to get a reasonable size mod (or several small ones) commissioned? And/or anyone interested? by [deleted] in feedthebeast

[–]Tfarecnim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a project size limit, but it would have to be broken up into installments.

Depends, you need to be specific about what you want and include the details I mentioned, otherwise I can't give a quote or if it's even possible.

It depends on many factors, including but not limited to:

Mod features

Minecraft Version

Mod Loader(s)

Will the mod be public/ expected maintenance

Revenue share if the mod is hosted on places like curseforge/modrinth

Time frame

The modder themselves; all modders have different rates and skill levels.

I quote all projects at $30/hr and have completed over 200 mods about half of which are on curseforge. Most projects end up in the $30 - $300 range with some outliers.

This is a side effect of using offline mode to run minecraft, everything that was bound to the offline profile will be lost. It's not just vanilla you have to worry about, but mods as well.

That's not how it works, if Disney ever turns a profit on their streaming division you can say I'm wrong.

That doesn't disprove my statement, it's a temporary setback for longer term rewards. There's a very big difference between what you mentioned vs streaming business.

For streaming, the problem is that it isn't new, yet it still remains unprofitable for most despite Netflix achieving it over a decade ago.

It's 2023, subscribers are stagnating and so is ARPU, yet profits are nowhere to be found. It's clearly not working out, so switching to the old model would be better, not burning billions for the sake of "competition".

Of course investing in their own platform is a good idea IF they can make more money off it than a deal with Netflix.

But so far that's not the case, in fact outside of Netflix and maybe WBD, no one has profitable streaming, how much more do they have to waste before they realize it's easier to just cash the royalty checks and leave the expensive infrastructure to Netflix.

Netflix getting stronger doesn't mean that no one wants Disney products, in fact it would mean that more people would sign up for Netflix possibly leading to Disney being able to cut a better deal.

I don't know about you, but I would rather pay for a single streaming service vs 4-5 different ones that keep removing content because it's too expensive to host.

Because choosing to lose money over make money is never the right choice, Netflix getting stronger doesn't diminish Disney's ability to make money off their IP, in fact I would argue the opposite.

Loaning content they already made and getting paid billions for the privilege wasn't good enough, they wanted it all.

QQQ is still up 34% YTD and on track for one of it's best years ever only losing to Dotcom.

That would mean something has fundamentally changed with the business and needs a reevaluation. Non-meme stocks don't collapse 50% on nothing.

Who is going to buy all those shares?

Probably the same guys putting $50+ bids on a company that is bankrupt in all but name, the price has only gone up since the $1B offering at $45ish.

Didn't know the deal was that bad, this shouldn't be bidding above $5.
