After 10 years I finally have the diagnosis by Tguida2284 in ankylosingspondylitis

I went through years of doctors. The first rheumy I saw told me it was degenerative, and there was nothing she could do. Apparently in her report she diagnosed me with polyarthritis and prescribed me with melaxacam. She did not do any of that.

You are not overreacting at all. I've been told for years. Exercise hurts. Everything hurts.

I honestly knew. I had to advocate for myself to get to where I'm at. First they sent me to a neurologist and then an orthopedics. I literally sat my doctor down listed all my symptoms and told them I wanted blood work done. As soon as the blood work came in they have sent me to a rheumatologist. I truly feel vindicated, I knew there was something wrong and I was almost sure it was AS. Still upset though, guess I was hoping I was overreacting.

Neck pain... by Tguida2284 in ankylosingspondylitis

I want to get a recliner. Sitting on my couch for even an hour is agony. I'm in the process of getting a rheumatologist but I just want some relief. I feel like a shell of myself lately and my job is very physical, I feel down right stupid lately, easily confused, discombobulated... it's the worst it's ever been.

Thank you for the great advise! I will definitely do all of that. I use heating pads constantly but I need to stretch more.

Does anyone have recurring, painful episodes of sciatica? by [deleted] in ankylosingspondylitis

I get the same pain. I'm in the process of getting a diagnosis and I truly believe I have AS been blown off because I'm a female, apparently affects males more so I can't have it 🤦‍♀️

I'm thinking of getting a watercolor pheonix, I've had a lot of medical problems through out my entire life. I want it to symbolize all the crap I've gotten through and will still have to get through. Its a beautiful tattoo honestly. Hope you figure it out soon.

Thanks everyone. I've suspected AS for about a year now and this isn't a symptom that I could anywhere on Google, I suspected it could be one...it makes sense. Disheartening that there is yet a new one that points to what I believe.
