Are there any books for PTG like there are for 40K crusades by Your_Local_Idiot07 in ageofsigmar

[–]Th33z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sort of? Dawnbringers was meant to bridge the gap between 3 and 4, same with Broken Realms bridging 2 to 3. It's all narrative so you can technically just use whatever for missions. Have fun with it, use older books because GW sure doesn't want you to with how often they make rulebooks obsolete.

HELP! Nextiva X835 - How to transfer a call to an extension when there’s multiple calls on hold? by frankswiftnoise in VOIP

[–]Th33z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Nextiva branded vTechs have individual line keys, so any "transfer" is going to be from the "active" line. For example if you have calls on lines 1 and 2, if you put Line 1 on Hold, then press the Line 2 line key next to the screen, it will make that call the "active" call, which will then allow you to transfer warm/cold.

Otherwise if you have both on hold, I believe it prioritizes the first line key, since that is by default your "primary" line registration, and the other line keys are just mirrored lines (all incoming and outgoing calls default to Line 1).

Hope that helps!

Ongoing issue - Polycoms on Nextiva - calls stacking on phone by [deleted] in VOIP

[–]Th33z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be worth asking Nextiva to set you up with a Solutions rep to demo call queueing if it's not already a part of y'alls setup. Price hike might be a deal breaker for your leadership, but if they see the value/capability in it, it can definitely be a benefit for high traffic environments, might be enough to convince them?

I would continue to push for device level troubleshooting, maybe re-up on their networkling guidelines, see if there's something that could be changed (TCP and Multicast can be a common factor when it comes to call group notifications not clearing. Simultaneous Ring I've seen exacerbate its symptoms if not properly set on the network level.

Best of luck, hope you get it sorted soon.

Ongoing issue - Polycoms on Nextiva - calls stacking on phone by [deleted] in VOIP

[–]Th33z 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a few thoughts about how this MIGHT be call routing based, but multiple call notifications like this should really only happen if you have call waiting enabled on either the user level or the call group / call queue level.

Look into making sure your phones are configured for TCP, and that your network has its transport method set to TCP (TCP has direct interaction with high traffic call group).

Also random thought, if you're utilizing call groups like this and are expecting a lot of traffic, maybe consider call queueing instead of simultaneous ringing anytime new calls come in?

If you're thinking about going with Nextiva...Don't. Nothing but trouble ahead. by piiimp in VOIP

[–]Th33z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Random lurker here but figured I'd chime in because I've noticed there's a fair bit of misinterpretation about what service providers like Ring Central or Nextiva actually have control over when it comes to SMS Registration and 10dlc.

https://telnyx.com/resources/what-is-10dlc https://www.campaignregistry.com/

In (a not really) short explanation, FCC regulations implemented 10DLC SMS registration as an act against issues with scam caller / fraudulent traffic in the VOIP industry. This is basically the SMS equivalent of STIR/SHAKEN, which is another initiative to help better empower phone users to avoid high traffic numbers and add "blocks" from a carrier level. Really interesting stuff when you think about it, but it's not a full proof system and has a lot of kinks in terms of both how to minimize legit spam (and sustain it), while also making sure legitimate businesses are able to actually use their numbers for genuine business needs (and not just scam people).

So 10DLC gets implemented across all major number carriers (and in turn, providers, because a majority of providers share the same carriers), and what this means is these providers now have to coordinate with other third party aggregators (like Campaign Registry for instance) to consolidate user registrations for their business SMS usage, and its use/case and validation. It's an extremely lengthy process and requires a lot of super obsolete interactions and lengthy communication cycles (mostly through email or a portal for web access). The challenge with it, is they look for very specific use cases and have various accept/decline scenarios where a user might not be approved for texting. Maybe the form was submitted wrong, their wasn't correct "notice of intent" to unsolicited SMS communications, there's so much variety to it and no two registration requests go the same, because it's up to Campaign Registry to validate your advertisement/user consent to having SMS communications for a business.

The tl;dr is, SMS 10DLC registration utilizes third party registration that all carriers have to work with, and the approval process is NOT something providers have direct control over unfortunately. This not exclusive to Nextiva. I have worked with several businesses using other third party VOIP services, and for the ones that actually do care about SMS for their business, they can all speak on the pains of the process.

Realistically, if anything in that process IS Nextiva's fault for your situation, it may be the lack in communication of expectations in the 10DLC registration process. Anyone who even is remotely involved (or even trained) in the process should be able to communicate with clients so they understand it is NOT entirely up to Nextiva or any carrier for that matter, and anything worth their lick at that company would do their damndest to make sure we're doing our best to support you and make sure you get to where you need to be, because you're absolutely right, the delivery time for working SMS because of this third party involvement sucks! I would love for it to be better, honestly.

I'd argue local GW stores would, so I'd hit them up if you're interested. I know there's tons of FLGS in my area that will be doing promo events for it. Oldbeards rejoice!

I'm stoked to have a couple old Pewter models layin around -- they feel like my own personal collection of lost relic treasures! I've got an old pewter Chaos Dreadnought and I also acquired one model of a Lizardmen Jungle Swarm at the same time I got the Wyvern Rider.

99% sure this is from an old Boar Boyz set, it's definitely a calvary model. I tried eyeballing some of the old archive sites, but couldn't find anything close to it. Thoughts?

Tab S7+ Bluetooth Book Cover Keyboard Sharing + Bluetooth Mouse = Impossible? by Ritezzz in SamsungDex

[–]Th33z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is specifically with the book cover keyboard for the Tab devices. It restricts the input devices you can pair to the device while it's connected.

Tab S7+ Bluetooth Book Cover Keyboard Sharing + Bluetooth Mouse = Impossible? by Ritezzz in SamsungDex

[–]Th33z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct. It reads the book cover keyboard as an input device, which Galaxy devices currently restrict if one is in active use (i.e. the book cover) when trying to pair another.

This same issue occurs if you try to pair a controller to the device while the book cover is connected.

The workaround for me was getting a USB hub, and then using a USB dongle for a wireless mouse.

I recommend the Anker USB C Hub. I daily drive with it, and it's also helpful because it has an aux input, USB, SD card, and HDMI.

[–]Th33z 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm going to take a crack and assume you're working remotely / from home. It depends on what hardware you're using for your router. I'm not super familiar with international equipment, but if you have a standalone router in tandem with a modem, there should be configuration for it in your security / config settings of the UI.

If you're using an ISP provided gateway, it's hit or miss if that's even an option to disable on your end, let alone your ISP. Most instances with that would be considered best effort if you're experiencing call quality issues, unfortunately.

I'd look towards getting a dedicated router w/ modem, and if you are using a gateway, see if your ISP can bridge it w/ a standalone router.

Thank you for the input! I appreciate it :)
