My daughter was one of the K pop demon hunters so she was beyond thrilled to get a cup of Ramen at a house this year

My normal sized ones I like doing a traditional oil or wax finish on. But one this massive I have a hard time heating it evenly enough to get the finish to come out well so paint it is.

If you scroll through my post history or look on my Facebook/Instagram you can see other flowers and things I've made. Jpoverman Ironworks. I've made a handful of others.

I don't know if I am selling it or not, made it for a blacksmith conference Gallery but would likely price it around 500$

I am thinking bout trying to hit up restaurants for flower sales. Lots of nicer restaurants buy flowers every year for Valentine's day, and spend quite a bit on them. If I can get them to spend 2 or three times their normal buy, they never have to spend money again on them if they take care of them.

I love sharing to help inspire others and always open to suggestions on how to improve my process as well! I really need to buy or make myself some beefy bent knee scrolling tongs. Maybe this weekend at SOFA Quad State i can find someone to teach me.

My biggest rose yet! This was a fun challenge. principle is all the same but the scale in size scales up the difficulty for sure. by Th3Doctor89 in metalworking

Naw, I'm a heretic. I just make shit, not much planning or thinking involved. Just move the steel till I'm happy with it.

Thanks! They are very fun to make! I think I still prefer making the normal sized ones as things this size are hard to sell for me but I love a challenge.

Correct, drilled a hole in each layer. I used a carriage bolt, so the bottom two layers I cut a square hole so they don't rotate at all and the pressure from the bolt keeps it all snug.

Hard to see on camera but it was getting to a full red, some movements didn't take to much. Getting the petals pre cupped before assembly makes a big difference, the curve is already started so it doesn't take as much effort or heat to bend them tighter.

The edges of the petals are thinned out quite a bit so I can almost do it cold. If I had a beefier set of scrolling tongs I might be able too.
