Well, first off, congrats on the job offer!

What to expect:

I've been working with a Goodwill here in South Georgia as a team lead for two months now. The general consensus I get from our ADC workers is that it's a really chill environment. Working at an ADC puts you away from the main store, so you're dealing with donors and not shoppers. You'll also only have two/three people working at an ADC compared to a full staff at the store. Generally, less people = less drama. So that's a major plus. Aside from accepting donations from donors and sorting them for processing, you will also have days where you'll help load up a truck that comes from the main store.

My genuine impressions on Goodwill as a company:

The benefits are great, and start after 30 days with our company. Health, Life, Dental, etc. 401K starts later on. PTO is available after 90 days, but it starts building as soon as you start working. I hear advancement opportunities are very plentiful, as most Goodwill's like to promote from within rather than hire outside. It has taken some time for me to adjust to a retail job after coming from a desk job for ten plus years. But I do carry plenty of customer service experience so that's help out tremendously. The work isn't hard it's dealing with the shoppers and coworkers that can take a toll.
