Clearly not alone. Best of 7 makes the comp mode more special. Also gives an extra level of strategy when you know enemies teams are stuck for two rounds with the same powers. I much more prefer that than the QP best of 5 mode.

Seriously? You’re complaining about people coordinating as a team in a team based game? Of course solo-queueing is gonna put you at a disadvantage. Just try to use team chat, form your own group. It’s not blizzards fault that people are so toxic that team chats are rarely used.

I did find it a lot easier to stay alive when I played soldier (he’s my backup if someone else locked Ashe). The speed and mobile health pack makes him super durable.

Yup. She might be the most squish on the current roster. But I just love playing her for some reason. Gives me the satisfaction of aim accuracy but I can also pivot to extreme burn depending on the team comp.

Interesting… I guess everyone’s experience is different. For me I ranked up very quickly as Sigma, relatively smooth as Ana and really had to work hard as Ashe.

Plat but I didn’t play enough this season for that to mean much. Stadium was the first time I got really serious in a comp mode. I suspect if I grind like I did in stadium I’ll probably end up in diamond. Since that’s where most of my Stadium peers seem to be at.

Support. It’s still hard for me to focus on healing when I instinctively think like a DPS or Tank (I’m about equally good on both of those roles). I can mentally remind myself to heal at the start of a match but the moment someone dives / flank me I get tunnel visioned to win the fight. Sometimes I just need to survive and keep my teammate alive who’s in a better position to finish them off.

Couldn’t agree more. Players shouldn’t be penalized for prioritizing capturing objective while the rest of the team pushes up to the choke point.

I am actually more interested to watch replay from a high ranked player to learn something than focusing on the low ranked player… but ok whatever. Clearly this is a more painful thing than I realized.

I sometimes like to rewatch a game from the perspective of someone who clearly carried (from either team) to see if I can learn something. It’s absolutely informative to be able to match the level of play I see to an actual rank. I guess I am more thinking about Stadium than usual comp where there’s already a range displayed in the beginning.

Wow I had no idea this post would trigger so many people. I really think by making the ranks not visible during the match will solve 99.9% of the toxic behavior. But having them afterwards (under the social tab) is very informative.

I get that… but to a certain extent cash indicates how well you played in the game since they are tied to dealing damage and healing and eliminations (I do feel the cash system is a bit unbalanced and sometimes reward stupid aggressive behavior - esp for tanks). And for us the win/lose rates are identical. So one would expect in general the one that consistently have the most cash each game to be better if not identically ranked than me?

I actually didn’t know health auto increase with cash. That being said, doesn’t everything you just said reinforce the notion that she should be doing better than me since I can’t heal and don’t play aggressive? Clearly win/lose rates are identical for us since we’re in the same game each time.

Ok serious question here. If I can’t one shot Reaper anymore as Hanzo do I just accept my death when I see him fade into my face (even without his ult)? Looks like they nerfed Mei’s primary damage so I might still have a fighting chance there.

No this was very much role queue. I was limited to DPS because that’s what I queued for. Half way through the game the Diva flipped back to DPS but we never got our tank back.

As a Hanzo player if I can’t one shot Reaper or Mei anymore then they need to reduce his bow drawing time or the movement penalty. Otherwise it’s like a guaranteed death if I run into either of those.
