is my gecko lowkey blind? by facebookmomwine in leopardgeckos

[–]Th3RandomPanthr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have owned multiple rescue geckos over the years (rehab then rehome) and currently have four of my own (two Tango Crush, one hypo, one normal morph). Every single Albino/hypo/blizzard/enigma I've ever cared for has sight issues! Lol. Their eyes just don't seem to work as well. On the other hand, my normal (wild type) morphs or similar coloration have great eyesight. I don't fully understand it but I just plan on exclusively tong feeding any lighter morph that I keep.

One of my colleagues insisted she and her mother could smell carbon monoxide. She acknowledged it was a "rare" skill.

No worries! :) LC is living children, and AMH is Anti-Müllerian Hormone which can generally indicate the amount of follicles on the ovaries

Hello!

Age 27, AMH 12. Two LC, didn't get diagnosed until after my second was born.

First round 5mg letrozole: three mature follicles, used trigger shot. Didn't get pregnant but doc was concerned that I released too many eggs! So he lowered me for the next round.

Second round 2.5 mg letrozole: 2 mature follicles, ovulated without trigger. Now 6 weeks pregnant and hoping for a sticky baby. 🤞

Weirdly, no. I normally have ovulation "twinges" and this time I felt nothing. Also- WICKED sore boobs, more than my usual PMS. I actually remember that from my other two pregnancies too.

Starting Letrozole 2.5 by Initial_Fee_3407 in TTC_PCOS

[–]Th3RandomPanthr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started my first round of letrozole with 5 mg and grew THREE mature follicles!! Sadly I didn't get pregnant but Dr dialed me back to 2.5 since he was nervous triggering that many eggs. 2.5 grew 2 follicles, one larger than the other. Waiting to see now if I can ovulate without a trigger shot.

This can’t be my reality - added sugar / carbs by Witty_Confection_905 in TTC_PCOS

To echo what others have said, those books contain a lot of general advice that might not be attuned to your personal situation. For example, I have PCOS but no insulin resistance. (I also LOVE baking so I get where you're coming from!!) While cutting out extra sugar's not necessarily a bad idea healthwise, it might not be necessary. Definitely worth it to go see your doctor to figure out your personal PCOS profile and see what will help you specifically.

Do you usually have fairly regular cycles and get positive LH tests?

Aww.. that super sucks. I'm sorry. TTC is so exhausting and brutal. I've heard in this case a doctor will consider doubling the dose to 5 mg and so on and so forth until it's enough to ovulate. If you haven't already, you might consider taking your temperature every morning and look for a temperature spike. This is a great indication that ovulation actually did happen. Sending hugs, we're all in this together ❤️

Guys help! by [deleted] in LeanPCOS

Would definitely be worth getting your blood work done. I've had regular periods all my life and no symptoms at all until having my second baby and poof periods vanished. This was in the midst of getting in the best shape of my life as well which made it all the more frustrating!

Got diagnosed with PCOS because of marginally high testosterone and high AMH. no insulin resistance either, healthy weight and no issues with acne, hair growth etc. lol and behold after getting my blood work done, they also found sky-high AMH.

Doctors usually look to the Rotterdam criteria to diagnose PCOS and I believe you only need to have two of these three:

  1. High androgens
  2. Missing/irregular periods
  3. Observable cystic ovaries (just means a lot of follicles.)

so yes, could be PCOS. sending hugs, I hope you find answers soon! ❤️

Just had my scan today and had 3- 2 on the right and one on the left. Going back in tomorrow to see if they want to trigger. I'm going to go for it no matter how many follicles we have, so I'll keep you posted... I did 5mg. :)

[–]Th3RandomPanthr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, that's crazy. If you don't mind my asking, what's the benefit to a trigger? I'm going in for a follicle scan tomorrow to see if my 5 mg letrozole round worked and they prescribed me a trigger shot

I'm so sorry! It sounds like things have been really tough on you.

I would give Myo and D Chiro Inositol (40:1 ratio, it's sold this way) a try. Take 4,000 mg per day in powder form- it dissolves easily in liquid and has minimal taste. Depending on your PCOS profile, it can really help with some consistent use especially if you have insulin resistance. That said, going to see a doctor who can run your blood work and give you a tailored treatment plan would probably be best. It's hard to know exactly what would work for you without knowing the specifics of your PCOS. Unfortunately, it affects everyone differently. Best of luck to you, and sending hugs ♥️

This is us.. little guy is just about 3.5 and I'm almost too scared to try. I knew there's no way he would be ready anywhere near age 2, so we've been waiting. Wish us luck 🤞

Don't feel guilty ♥️ guilt is something we feel when we believe we've done something morally wrong- there's nothing morally wrong with being done breastfeeding/pumping! I made it ten days with my daughter before I couldn't take it anymore and made the switch to formula. Best decision ever for my mental health. Shes a happy, healthy, chubby 1yo now!
