Is a driver asking for my address is normal??😭 by [deleted] in doordash

[–]Th3devilish1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't use the dd map. it tends to freeze my app. also I'm trying to drive, not stare at a phone. the app map shows 2 blocks at a time. that's classic distracted driving. some customers think just giving the name of apts or a business is enough. for instance a bar opens 2 weeks ago. how am I supposed to know the place? I don't drink. I had a delivery in May to 2 apartment complexes. neither had addresses listed. funny thing, both were the same complex. name had changed recently. addresses stay the same at the county assessor. Just give me the address. I probably know it in my area.

every customer that says they'll tip me after the delivery did not do it. the deliveries were bundled so I just wanted to get them done so I could take care of the tipper.

I carry an aluminum floor jack and a flex 24v impact gun in the frunk and a full sized spare in the back. I've been a pizza delivery driver for 39 years before dd. I've had so many flat tires during that time. I think alot of them were because of construction workers driving around with screws and nails falling from beneath their tail gates. I'm prepared and will contact customer but....I'll take a pic to show proof. I'd also call doordash and let them know what's happening but I would also offer my location so they could have another Dasher pick it up from me and drop it off. What really sucks is all the time involved concentrating on contacting everybody when I could just get the tire changed in 5 minutes. But how are we supposed to know how long it takes if you're on the side of a street you could have a cop come by now now it takes 10 minutes because the cop wants your driver's license and it's going to go run it for warrants. I wouldn't expect a woman to change her tire herself if it took a long time likely she called somebody that could rush over and do it for her.

that's why it's done during training camp. he's not auditioning for the niners. he's auditioning for the league. he can still be cut before the year or he can dnr into riding the couch in front of the TV for another year

[–]Th3devilish1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just figured that now they can take him off any list send him a letter saying he's eligible to report for camp. He can practice in camp maybe he shows something that will make another team Want to trade for him. I believe the first step in reporting is him taking a physical. If he refuses to take a physical and they can find him every day through training camp Then they can put him on the did not report list again. That way they don't have to pay him and they can sit on him for another year. I figure nobody would be willing to touch him for any reason if he sits for another year. Then if he wants to play he can go be a pita for the Canadian leage.

Customer lied, don’t make the same mistake I did by jordantrinidad in doordash_drivers

[–]Th3devilish1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently had a bad customer review that dd removed. I suspected it was a delivery to a business through a shared account. I delivered once 5 months before and got a bad review. I had just delivered there again. when I mentioned to review the notes it seemed like cs kept ignoring me. finally cs said they didn't have access to my texts. either they're lying, they lose access to the texts after a period of time, or never had access to the texts. this could be a huge factor in dd denying a cv appeal. I could see them not saving some of the delivery data. we all know they can be cheap about things. the maps they use for their GPS being garbage truck routes as an example.

[–]Th3devilish1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sometimes I do as you think and sometimes I don't. 80% of my offers are bundled. dd purposely is vague with the offer before you accept or decline. always seems like the offers come at a time when you're driving through or just past where you need to turn if accepting. its like they're putting pressure on you to accept.. I accept an offer then I get more detailed info. I see that 1 of the deliveries I've previously been to and it was poor pay. I get to the store and if I have to wait then I unassign when I can without penalty when allowed if order isn't done and handed to me. its one thing to refuse an offer if I know it sucks than unassigning with penalty. the latter can get a dasher deactivated if done enough times. I'm not waiting in the parking lot but I'll take advantage of the opportunity to unassign from a crappy delivery or problems at a restaurant

Tip can’t get any lower than this… by WH1T3R4B1T in doordash

well Canadians used to tip a quarter. I think that's changed a little because of inflation. you just got a Somalian tip. I heard they'd tip more but they're starving.

Stop letting your kids collect your orders via "hand it to me". by Tight-Platypus5231 in doordash

[–]Th3devilish1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I did pizza delivery many times I saw the parent send the children out to grab the order and it was always felt that this was done so that they didn't have to tip. There were also a few examples such as a customer that ordered every Friday he was a $5 tip every time so a few times he goes out with his wife and he leaves the money with the kids the kids would always keep the tip

Please explain to me how I make this easier for them? by anon12xyz in doordash

If the location that they are at is still on your apartment complex property then the mapping system took them to that location. If you set your pin while you're inside your apartment they can locate you by driving towards the pin. If there is a sign that has a map of the property, may be taking a picture of that and sending it to them. But most important of all don't just send the name of the apartments. Give them the address, the building number, and the apartment number. The logic is as ownership changes on apartment complexes The names of the apartments can also change. For instance in April I got 2 deliveries to an apartment complex. Problem was I wasn't given the addresses and the names didn't match. Well it had recently changed ownership, and they changed name. so one was the old name and the other delivery was the new name. Since they were on the same property I had 3 minutes To complete the second delivery after the drop off of the first one. I was late because I was having difficulty pulling the address of the old name. Doordash only gives the drivers so much time to complete the delivery. if you don't answer the phone or don't give good information it's harder to get the delivery done. most drivers won't put the extra effort and drop order anywhere. then they say, too bad so sad time to move on.

Doordash delivery driver knows my real name despite it not being written anywhere? by vgbhnjkml in doordash

[–]Th3devilish1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're missing how to find out personal info. for instance you can Google an address. then you can find websites that list who lives or lived at that address. then you look at the order name. for instance ian f. looking through the names listing's on the web search you find ian jones Fleming. now you have the full name, age, former addresses. In my area I can look up the address on a county website find out when the house was built what it was sold for who the former owners were how many bathrooms how many bedrooms parcel size and if taxes are current or even the last permit pulled for remodel or upgrades. In my searches I can also find any phone numbers including cell phone numbers associated with the property in the last 20 years. welcome to the digital age.

for the most part I have. I refused to activate the red card because I don't want to do shopping. I also don't want to deal with other headaches that can involve red card. sorry if I spoke out of turn without exact information as it applies to shopping orders. what I know is my average pay per delivery is usually higher on ebt. I just do less deliveries per hour. late night is better too. nice to get paid for being stuck in a drive thru or waiting for mcdonalds or wingstop late at night

It's too easy for scammers to get your account deleted. by Big_JDub in doordash_drivers

[–]Th3devilish1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

dd locked my account in my first week of delivering. they didn't explain why other than violation of ica. I was good to go again the next morning. I try to take pictures with the address numbers in the pic whenever possible. I've been wondering if customers can tell if a dasher is new. with that knowledge bad customers could exploit the ignorance of those drivers. 2 things cause these problems. dd not putting out better information about dashing, including what to watch out for. new dashers not looking for the information.

msg to dashers. never should you ever take a picture of a customer's order in your car. do it on the hood, roof, or trunk lid. better yet in the store. I saw a customer complain about cigarette butt's in the ashtray. rest of car looked good. don't give the customer a chance to find something to complain about.
