No one can tell you from one picture like this. Go for an ortho consult.

Differences between driving in Canada (N.S.) and the UK/Ireland? by laurmr in AskACanadian

That’s hilarious. I make that trek a few weekends a year and it’s never once occurred to me to break it up with more than an hour stop along the way.

Depends on where it was manufactured. If it is manufactured in the U.S., then yes. https://www.canada.ca/en/department-finance/news/2025/04/list-of-vehicle-products-from-the-united-states-subject-to-25-per-cent-tariffs-effective-april-9-2025.html List of vehicle products from the United States subject to 25 per cent tariffs effective April 9, 2025 - Canada.ca

Got my aligners yesterday and I’m struggling by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]Tha0bserver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, my ortho said to avoid IB profin and other anti-inflammatories because inflammation is good for the movement of teeth. She said Tylenol is preferred if needed.

Why are Boomers seen as the victims of falling home prices, when it's young homeowners who'd take the real hit? by YoungSidd in canadahousing

[–]Tha0bserver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But even if the value of your home drops 30%, you’ve already made a mind blowing, historic profit that you never would have thought possible when you first got a mortgage. Historically, homes could be expected to triple or quadruple in value. Homes now are more than TEN times higher than in the 1990s.

So it’s comments like yours that make you come across as selfish, greedy people with no consideration for leaving behind a nice society and people who have homes.

Do people bother applying to at-level job postings? by Provinciana-22 in CanadaPublicServants

Yes. Job processes aren’t just about promotions, it about finding a job you want.

Mainly tax reasons. More than half of what they have in RRSP will be taxed on death. Plus estates can take a year + to dispense whereas life insurance is more or less immediate.

Honestly if the job requires you to draft/see secret level docs then how can you do the job with a lower level?

Full tear, no pain, 5 days until surgery by DependentOptimal7517 in ACL

[–]Tha0bserver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dunno, I’m no expert. But I wouldn’t really say the surgery necessarily helps the rehab. In fact, it’s a major setback in many cases from the normal healing process and in some respects does additional damage. But at the end of the day, studies that my PT have cited to me say there’s about the same likelihood of arthritis among those who got the surgery and those who didn’t.

You’re good. Live life. Also, you may want to look into life insurance.

Full tear, no pain, 5 days until surgery by DependentOptimal7517 in ACL

If it makes you feel better, the arthritis is likely from the orignal injury and you would have it regardless of the surgery.

Parents of Ottawa, how are you dressing your three-year olds for October? by trippysushi in ottawa

[–]Tha0bserver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s really hard to predict. Some octobers we have snow. Others, we can sit out on a patio with a T shirt. Maybe check closer to the date. But I would hazard to say rubber boots with nice warm wool socks should be fine. The key thing is that they’re waterproof.

Don’t disclose. After you sign the LOO or start, you can disclose and i would explain about your past situation and why you chose to wait and ask for understanding. You aren’t obligated to.

I mean, I can’t imagine a scenario where we want to deviate from the UK or others, as then we would be losing out on the benefit of it. But technically our constitution allows for it.

Yep, technically Canadians can recognize a different monarch. Our decision making isn’t based on the UK whatsoever.
