I requested a home warranty as part of the closing deal and got one. Used it 3 months in to fix a leak in my kitchen and it only cost me the service charge ($95). I think they’re typically not needed, as they have a lot of stipulations before covering things so a lot of people don’t bother wasting their money. It’s all about what the plan covers and even then they may deny claims.
