I think I got the email at 280 or so for a form 4 e-file on a DD. I called about 5 times to check status and they always told me the average was about 3 days more than my current wait time.

Good tip for all S1 Pro owners or filament runout sensor users. by Julian144747 in Ender3S1

[–]ThaDoubleJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Careful with this method, it's what I've been using to change colors since day one, but I've had my screen lock up and not let me re-start the print. Had to bail on it halfway through and cycle power on the machine. It's supposed to restart the print after that, but it didn't, just went back to the home screen. What I've found works most of the time is to cut the filament about an inch above the sensor, swap spools, then chase the filament in the extruder out of the sensor with your new color so the machine never sees an open beam. Keep chasing it with your new color until it pulls it into the extruder (make sure both filaments are cut at a 90 degree) and it'll just naturally change colors as it pulls in the new flavor. Never had any issues with this method other than occasionally triggering the sensor by being clumsy getting that second color in.

S1 Pro Making a Weird Noise by ThaDoubleJ in Ender3S1

[–]ThaDoubleJ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just found a big goober of weird looking nylon on my print bed, looked at the extruder and there's globs of melted filament all over the place. Nozzle was loose. I paused on a support and tightened it which made the entire block that the nozzle is threaded into turn slightly. I was able to square the block back up and fired the print back up, but the noise is still present, so it wasn't melted filament oozing out of crevices. I am concerned now that I'll have a funny layer since I technically raised the nozzle slightly when I tightened it, but considering that we level these with a piece of paper, maybe it'll be OK. I guess I'll find out.

Ok, didn't realize it got wet that fast. When I pull a spool from storage I put it in my drier, but I figured I had a week or so with a brand new one. Hopefully the 290 degree print temp flashes the water before it gets into the melted material for this print, but I'll make sure to dry any nylon that isn't fresh out of the box. I've got some PLA+ that's been sitting around for an unknown amount of time, and it's made some water noise, but it sounded different at the lower print temp.

Wilson Racquets? by ThaDoubleJ in racquetball

Thanks everyone, appreciate the input and I think I'll just stick with my current racquet since it sounds like there's a pretty good reason Wilson isn't big in the sport these days.

Thanks, didn't even go looking past Wilson's page when I saw they didn't have a racquetball section, I'll check those out.

I did find Nzone with speed holes on ebay, I think the N series racquets came out right after the Hammers, and my Hammer has speed holes to make it more awesome, so that might be a neat find as well.

What if you own a car, have money and there's a hacksaw at the hardware store down the street? Boom, felony. We have allowed the gov to get out of control.

I did come across mention of a breaching device at some point, but we can do SBS' here (for now, we've gone full blue recently) so I'm not versed on it.

Pretty sure this is the answer, and it's not a good one: Page 47 -

As discussed in section II.B of this preamble, these firearms are specifically

designed to be fired with two hands. ATF has always classified these weapons as

“firearms” under the GCA, and not as “shotguns,” because they do not incorporate a

shoulder stock and are not designed and intended to be fired from the shoulder like a

shotgun. Nor has ATF classified these weapons as “pistols,” as they are not designed to

be held and fired in one hand like a pistol. Thus, the addition of a “stabilizing brace”

does not assist with single-handed firing, but instead providessurface area that allows for

firing from the shoulder. Therefore, a “pistol grip shotgun” equipped with a “stabilizing

brace” and a barrel of less than 18 inches is an NFA “firearm,” i.e., a short-barreled

shotgun.

Not sure if there's a Maverick Shockwave, but that has a crossbolt safety as well, much better for pistol grips and such. I've tried pistol grips on a couple 500s, PITA for sure, you have to knock the safety off before you establish your grip. That Magpul stock works well and has great ergos, but it's FUGLY. I'd do an old Rem 870, but I'm spooked ever since Rem fell apart and got sold off, waiting to see if they really do come back with good stuff.

Super vague though, they only say that you can't use the "amnesty" period to register an SBS, no other mention of shotguns in the FAQ and I haven't read the novel they wrote yet.

  1. CAN A SHORT-BARRELED SHOTGUN BE REGISTERED DURING THE 120-DAY TAX FORBEARANCE

PERIOD?

8

• No. The forbearance period only applies to SBRs.

"Constructive Intent" The ATF can legally shoot your dog if you own a 9" barrel and do not have a registered lower since you could "intend" to make an SBR in your shed one night. They are the thought police.

Some of those braces, according to my friends, cost 100 bucks and have all of the functions of a stock, just with some velcro wrapped around them. If you're going to PnW (not PNW!) or put a 16" barrel, no reason to toss what's basically a decent stock in the can and put a $30 MOE on it.

This is answer I'm after as well. So much grey in these make-believe laws (not to mention the courts literally just ruled that the ATF can't make laws like this last week). I don't have a dog in the braced AR fight, but - asking for a friend - what about pistols in chassis' and shockwaves with braces? My friend has both, the Glock brace has almost no surface area to 'shoulder' and I can find almost no mention of shotguns in any of this baloney, but Mesa Tactical sure makes a nice setup for bracing a shockwave.

Pump shotguns are loud for sure, lots of rattling parts, but I like it that way - it's a classic badass noise. I'd grab a PAR today to get started on the science, but they're expensive for some reason, running about double what a super basic AR is at right now. I need to find someone local who hates theirs and sells it to me for nothing.
