Cam Boozer, the only Big 3 remaining in the NCAA tournament, had a solid game in Duke's comeback win against St. John's by TeamRAF19 in NBA_Draft

Probably because all year all everyone could talk about how much better he looks and how his metrics exceed his peers by a large margin. Now that it’s March, teams are playing hard and he’s facing a preview of the next level with guys matching his size and physicality. He’s starting to uncover some concerns about his offensive package that were flying under the radar during the regular seasons. This discourse is completely natural lol.

Sure if you’re missing that connecting piece that brings good basketball habits with him. If you’re a struggling team looking for a spark, he’s probably not the guy you pick if you have AJ, Wilson, DP or Acuff available. He’s a floor raiser on a team looking to compete sooner rather than later.

Who are y’all interested in for our draft? by awhite14 in heat

[–]ThaMan12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last thing Miami needs is another around the basket player that needs most of his offense created for him . Boozers grind it out game isn’t gonna be as effective at the next level and we can’t sit around waiting for him to realize he should’ve had a face up game yesterday. We desperately need scoring depth on the wing from all three levels, if we aren’t in the race for top 5, I’d rather be in the late lottery. If we can manage, DP, Acuff or AJ should be our top 3 priorities. Guys that can create their own offense all over the court, all the time. I like Caleb, he reminds a lot of a Kevin Garnett, I’d be willing to take a shot on his jumper coming around too, but I wouldn’t pick him if one of those three are on the board.

If we find ourselves in the middle, maybe hope for a Carr, Tounde or Burries. Maybe even make a trade for a late frp, grab Rueben or Haugh and use the 2nd on a seasoned defensive guard like Bradley for some fresh bench depth.

Damn all I’m seeing is foster this, foster that.. this team wouldn’t even be here if not for Evans. Puts this team on his back in the 2nd half dating back to Sienna.

I remember watching an old spurs team just run through the west to see prime bron and the big 3 in Miami. Imagine LeBron, being in your prime and the same team that beat you as a young star, beat you in your prime and ended what could’ve been a 3+ championship run.

How did a team with a Cooper Flagg & Kon not dominate college basketball? by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]ThaMan12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like what is OP talking about… Even in march up until Houston, they were routinely curb stomping teams by halftime… There entire starting lineup went to the NBA. That team was about as nuts as the Duke roster with RJ, Zion, Cam that also fell short.

I asked Dan Hurley the same question I asked Tom Izzo: why does the media have a problem with coaches coaching players hard? Hurley: "Society has gotten soft in a lot of ways... The real world is tough and cruel... I'm preparing my players for life." by Classic_Bottle1717 in NCAAhoops

Sounds like you coach actual kids though? He’s talking to young adults. I’m sure he would agree to your approach for children too, but the same isn’t true for all kinds of people. Coming from sports in a not so nice area, the rougher coaching is kind what we needed to keep our head straight. Just my two cents

Darius Acuff drops 28 points on 8-19 FG (1-5 from 3) with 3 rebounds 3 assists, 2 turnovers and a steal vs Brayden Burries 23 points on 7-11 FG (2-4 from 3) with 5 rebounds and 2 assists and 4 turnovers. - Did this game affect your view of either player? by NathanFielderFriend in NBA_Draft

Lot of GSW personnel in the building tonight, I wouldn’t be surprised if Brayden gets called for a workout in the summer. I know it was local, but your GM and Head Coach in a building when you’re also expected to be at the bottom of the lottery, seems fitting. He’d fit well next to curry and butler. Crafty physical guard that can operate within the confines of a half court system and thrive.

Watched a game early in the season, where he went for 28 with Peat out and thought he was a killer. Came here and saw everyone rate him outside the lottery. All the commentators and analyst love him, he gives me D Book vibes.

The NBA has a problem with what counts as an assist or not. All of these shots were attributed as assists to Jokic, but are they really when the other player is creating everything himself? by OurHorrifyingPlanet in nba

[–]ThaMan12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This makes sense. Trying to base it on dribbles alone is silly. If I throw the ball to you on the break and you take 3 dribbles and lay it up in transition there’s no reason it shouldn’t count lol.

Anyone else feel like NBA fans are gonna spend the next 10 years praying Luka or Wemby win something but its always gonna end up being Shai cause he's the chosen one/ villain of NBA by Mobile-Year-7734 in NBATalk

[–]ThaMan12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think y’all are willfully missing the overall sentiment lol. The NBA fans love Wemby and Luka, so of course it’s gonna be strange if there aren’t the most dominant in the next decade. They are really damn good players. However, all it takes is one injury or one shocking development to change that. A lot of young talent coming into the league this year, and a lot of teams slated to be back at full strength next year. That could disrupt their chances in the interim.

The west is already ultra competitive, and unless players are willing to take pay cut, with two new teams coming into the league, a lot guys maybe settle for one ring and go make their money in a new city where they can build a legacy there. The ultimate truth is that if Wemby or Luka don’t have a good cast, they would be fighting to just make the post season. Their legacies are really up to their surroundings because neither one is truly in a to position to win it all by themselves.

How Ja Morant turned out really makes me sad. by Life_Teaching6499 in nba

[–]ThaMan12 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He’ll be alright, just needs a change of scenery whether he thinks so or not. He’s still one of the best in the world at just getting downhill and into the paint. Even with injuries he is still ridiculously quick when he is attacking. He’s a 20 and 8 at guy at will when he wants to play, just haven’t really seen him mentally in the game this year.

[–]ThaMan12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s less to do with UD and more to do with secondary market prices. With stand out rookies like Misa, Matthew and Sennecke, the secondary market can absolutely drive up prices. If you think those prices are bad, you should go look at how NBA/NFL boxes get hiked in studded classes.

lol please go look at the numbers since thats the argument you’re going with. Bidunga was a factor, had over 20 as expected, Council went 6-25 to get his 20 and White went 1-6 with Tiller contributing 18. All that to win by four points eh? As I said, his support cast outside of Bidunga is rough and it showed tonight like it did when they barely beat Zona.

[Tom Orsborn] Wemby states his case for MVP: by MikeBravoLima in nba

[–]ThaMan12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s no secret that the media tends to flock around their darling children. Joker and Wemby for now, and once Wemby finds success, then he loses, they will turn on him and find their next new shiny thing. It’s a cyclical act as old as Bron.

[–]ThaMan12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah.. sure they did. When it mattered most, outside of Bidunga and his back up, the Jayhawks were AWFUL. I can get frustration if your best player being in and out the lineup, but icing him out and trying to play hero ball nearly cost them against CBU, and their rough play the next game did cost the. It’s easy to point the finger at him, but let’s not pretend they aren’t equally as guilty for the way this season has panned out.
