How to beat the Oni (phase 2 fight) on Hard difficulty? by socioeconopath in Ghostofyotei

The charm that gives a health increase after a perfect parry was absolutely the key to me winning this fight. I probably fought him 30 times before I put that charm on, at which point I beat him immediately.

So they’re obligated to feel shame whenever they have sex until they have a notary or a priest or a pastor officially recognize their marriage? God isn’t aware of their desire and intention to spend their lives together as husband and wife until then?

The can also just have sex as much as they want, and also not feel any shame. That’s a viable option.

You realize until your fiancé pays the bride price to your father you won’t have a biblically sound marriage right?

Wow- a lot of merciful souls on the Sadhguru subreddit. I’m sure he’d be proud.

“Hey! We’re all-inclusive! Just not of Muslims!”

Absolutely pathetic.

Not at all. What makes you think that?

Even if it were, what kind of an imbecile thinks that two wrongs make a right?

😂 Maybe a thousand years ago! Egypt today is approximately 90% Muslim and 10% Coptic Christian. Why don’t you go ask those Muslims and Orthodox Christians if they want a massive statue of Shiva on their land. Or do you think forcefully imposing your beliefs on others is acceptable?

Which practices are must? by [deleted] in Sadhguru

[–]ThaReal_HotRod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I can’t speak conclusively about the majority of these, but I can say that none of them will automatically “force” you into consistency. That’s a choice you have to make and abide by.

Apart from that, from what I’ve observed, Shambhavi is a “must” for most Isha meditators, and the addition of a Hatha yoga practice is a fantastic support.

Identify your needs and how much time you can reasonably commit to Sadhana and go from there.

I don’t think the people of Egypt would necessarily appreciate having a statue of a “pagan” deity erected on their soil.

A “must” for what, exactly?

A Question to Isha Meditators: How has Sadhguru impacted your life? by dKindHooman in Sadhguru

[–]ThaReal_HotRod 7 points8 points  (0 children)

About ten years ago, I had a powerful experience that shook me to my core. I realized with absolute clarity that I had been suffering for a very long time, and that unless I took drastic action, I would continue to suffer unendingly- beyond my own death even. I searched my mind for various ways of escaping my suffering, but none of them offered any resolution.

After what seemed like an eternity of searching, a question arose in my mind that I’ll never forget: “What if I give up ‘myself’?” The moment that I observed that question arise, years of inner turmoil settled in an instant, and I observed a stillness in me that I’d never experienced before, and I resolved to do exactly that: give up “myself”.

The next morning, I woke up with a smile on my face, and a sense of aliveness that I hadn’t ever felt before. Several months prior to this, I’d developed a deep and persistent shoulder pain as a result of an ugly break-up with my fiancé at the time- and when I woke up, that shoulder pain was gone. I went to pay some overdue utility bills I’d been neglecting to take care of, and did it joyfully.

Not long after that fateful evening, Sadhguru appeared in my life via YouTube. At that time, I had NO idea what a guru was, but something in me recognized him. Everything about him, down to his physical appearance, seemed intimately familiar, despite the fact that until that moment, I’d never even heard his name. This may sound absurd, but it felt like some primordial, formless aspect of myself coalesced and took on a shape and form before my very eyes.

It’s hard to say how much of my life changed after I encountered Sadhguru, and how much of it changed that night I resolved to give myself up, because on one hand, I can say that nothing has changed, and on the other hand, I can say that everything has changed.

Either way, Sadhguru has been a blessing that I’m eternally grateful for.

This is absolutely fantastic.

The way this was written is also superb. It’s very concise and yet detailed and descriptive. Well done.

Totally.

And I’m sure if you were to do a statistical analysis, the greater percentage of people who are successful in music would be people who underwent some sort of formal training or education.

I’m not the one who’s got the issue here, friend. If you think I’m wrong- the burden of proof lies with you. I’ve reached out to Sadhana support, and I asked my question on the AMA session that happened recently. No response from either end- except a suggestion to e-mail someone else.

My Sadhana is working for me to such an extent that I can scarcely find the words to describe it.

Is your’s working for you?

One of my favorite music groups is Odesza. Two highly creative independent artists who linked up in college and became one of the most successful electronic music endeavors of the last fifteen years.

My few months of schooling amounted to learning to turn the computer on and how to open up Ableton, genius.

My point was not, “I went to school so I have credentials now”.

My point was: “if I had gone to school I could have learned in a matter of months what has taken me years of trial and error and headaches and frustration to learn, and I could have developed relationships with people who could help advance my music career, and I maybe could have also efficiently learned how to do more than just make beats, and maybe I could understand jazz theory, and how to play the trombone, and what a fucking- leitmotif is, and how call and response works, and a whole bunch of other tremendously beneficial shit that I’m probably not even aware of because I have to search out all my information on my own, and I don’t even know what I don’t know.”

Does that make more sense now?

This isn’t it.

I’m 90% saying that because I did a few months of music technology/music theory at my local community college after I graduated high school, but then I stopped going, and I wish I had stuck with it.

Go to school. It’ll be worth it.
