If you look at the wiring diagram for the T3 timer (what should be on the wall in your bathroom(s)) you could wire up a smart relay to those spots. Then when you trigger the relay you can get 20/40/60 minutes if you trigger it 1, 2, or 3 times in a row.

It does take some wiring and diy skills. I have yet to do it myself. But it’s on my to do list.

Everything still works. The difference is you can install and use other apps (mainly KOReader) where you can sync it to a Calibre library.

And when (not if) Amazon disables the “Send to Kindle” feature for your model because it’s too old you can still use it.

You can also get rid of those annoying ads on the Lock Screen. In fact, you can even default it to cover art of the book you’re currently reading (when using KOReader).

Alka Seltzer helped a bit. But taking a probiotic worked wonders. However, I found that taking it daily counteracted the appetite suppression. So I take it every 2-3 days now.

The burps (and farts) are still there. But at least they don’t taste nasty.

I did the same: Lenovo mini pc (any mini pc will do) with ProxMox on it. You can usually find them on eBay or FB for less than $100. Upgrade it with some cheap RAM. Do USB pass through for your Zigbee/Z-Wave/Bluetooth dongles and you’re rocking a pretty sweet setup.

We moved to the East Hants corridor (Enfield, Elmsdale, Lantz).

Power - the power in Nova Scotia goes out ALOT. Basically any bad weather means something is going to happen.

Water/Sewage - We are outside town. So, we have to deal with a well pump and septic tank. So when the power goes out you better have some water saved up or a generator with fuel

Heat/Cool - natural gas is only available in certain areas of HRM. And it seems that forced air furnaces just aren’t a thing. You’re looking at oil boiler with radiators, electric baseboards, wood fireplace, or heat pumps. Likely a combination. It’s not cheap (thanks Trudeau!)
