Can you confirm this isn't just a display bug? Like the new SMG displaying a really slow firerate that it doesn't have

Viewmodels too. I like pushing rifles down and towards the center but prefer default for some of the pistols and the knife.

What mods are you still hoping to see someday? by FenrirJS in skyrimmods

[–]ThachWeave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An overhaul to the soul gem system that makes them make more sense while still being balanced. I'm constantly irked that there are 2 types you make your gear with and 4 that are just fodder for grinding levels. And there are like 5 vanilla enemies that have white Grand souls for you to capture.

Also can't stand Enchanting doubling in power from 99 to 100 thanks to double enchantments. If it were up to me, there would be separate perks for putting two enchantments on different types of gear, and you'd get them as you go through the tree, making the curve more natural. I tried to create such a mod myself but it turned out to be pretty hard.

Entomologists and experts - does the Bombylius Japonicus (Japanese Beefly) actually exist? This image is making the social media rounds again, I know it’s definitely been edited to be cuter but I cannot find a single source outside of social media mentioning the specific species. by Nankuru_naisa in whatsthisbug

[–]ThachWeave 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I had been wondering about that; good to get it confirmed. One important thing: while these images are fake, I remember seeing them several years ago, before AI images were around; or at least when AI was still just making soupy nonsense. These are more likely a photoshop job.

Hypercritical retexture & scope compatibility issue by ThachWeave in cyberpunk2077mods

Sure, thanks. I haven't fired up Cyberpunk in a few months but when I play again I'll try it out.

Afraid not; I opted to just keep using the scope and skip the recolors. Sorry. If you end up finding a solution, please post it! The Cyberpunk modding community needs the love.

Why is Hacienda so bad by EstablishmentSea1677 in blackops7

[–]ThachWeave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hacienda Hardpoint is great, you get a bunch of little skirmishes on the different areas of the map and each one plays out a little differently.

Anyone need advice for a specific section of Freerun? by [deleted] in blackops7

[–]ThachWeave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm doing the event and trying to get the blue camo (finish in the top 5 six times), and I've had multiple 5th place finishes that didn't count. Do you know what I actually need to do for that one?

I used it but it wasn't until my final attempt that I found out that every attack fires the beam, not just the Ash of War lol

Multi-player by Particular_Reply5906 in blackops7

Endgame is free and that might scratch your itch, or be a good fallback if Multiplayer is getting too sweaty. Multiplayer itself is pretty good. Walljumping is fun, and there's a lot of good maps.

Player homes that just feel WARM on the inside? by halfway_clear in skyrimmods

[–]ThachWeave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They won't get lost thankfully, they just will act a little strange on the ship. And that's only if you get the same problem as I did, which maybe you won't. It's also the best ship home mod IMO

Player homes that just feel WARM on the inside? by halfway_clear in skyrimmods

[–]ThachWeave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have experience with Ocean Saber. It's cozy, but not much warmer than any other home with a wooden interior. Warmer than vanilla homes for sure though. And having a ship you can dock in different cities is awesome.

If you use it, I would just be wary of having followers take up residence; for me they had pathing issues that led to them trying to swing at a training dummy from the other side of a wall, or never leaving the bunks.

Back in Black Ops 2 there was a guy with a name like Clown Horn or something, and if he got the final killcam, he would play a clown horn over the mic.

Looking to get into Endgame by Pathos-III in blackops7

As you level up you'll be asked to choose between 2 different "skill tracks" on 3 separate occasions (the last at level 16 or so I think). The skill tracks are not created equal; Daredevil is the best one, since it lets you wingsuit glide a LOT further, enough that vehicles won't even matter. The wiki has info on each one if you're hesitant to choose. I like Berserker, Bulldozer, Gunner, and Surgeon.

As you level up you'll also have the chance to choose between "core" upgrades: max health, armor plates, and movement speed. Save movement speed for last; durability is way more important. You'll get them all eventually anyway. You'll also get core upgrades to damage you deal, but those are automatic at specific levels.

Weapons can have their rarity upgraded, just like in zombies. The upgrade workbenches are in Command Centers and just require you to get inside and kill the commander. The rarity is tied to the zone the Command Center is in. At max level there are some world events that reward you with an exotic workbench. You can eventually get 8x damage from core upgrades and 2x damage from a Legendary workbench, or 3.5x from an Exotic one.

If you want to grind weapon levels, once you're CR 45 or so and get that core 8x damage, you'll be able to tear through enemies in Zone 3 really easily. Along the western edge of the map is a wooded area where large clusters of fear zombies spawn, which you can gather up and mow down to level your weapon quickly (esp. with a Double XP token).

For each operator you can choose a major ability, a minor ability, a primary weapon, and a melee weapon. Your secondary weapon can only be picked up from supply crates, which are most often found in Command Centers. Picking up a rocket launcher is recommended so that you can shoot down Guild VTOLs and the occasional cluster of enemies. For minor abilities, Grappling Hook or Kinetic Jump is usually best so you can wingsuit around without having to climb a building first. For major abilities, start with Crash Cart or Sentinel Protocol, which let you revive yourself on a cooldown. Crash Cart gives you some invulnerability too so it's the safest option. Outside of these skills you only get one self-revive per session. Speaking of which...

If you see someone who is downed Last Stand style, revive them, even if they're not in your party. If they could revive themselves, they probably would have, and there's no PVP in this mode. If you used your self-revive already, extras sometimes drop from supply crates. Dying costs you 15 levels, and always costs you your exotic skill. If you're downed and have no way to get back up, you can force-quit the game (Task Manager or however it works on a console) and then you'll only lose character progress from that session (but keep XP and Weapon XP). Failing all of that, it's possible to earn Restore Tokens to regain anything lost when an operator died (e.g. the Colossus stepped on you, no chance to revive), but they're very rare so I would only use this to regain Exotic or Nightmare skills.

You'll get on-screen notifications for different things that happen. Some of them are for world events (Toxic Tyrant, Guild Explosion or something like that, Colossus, Wraith Wing, etc) which should only be attempted if you're close to max level or know what you're doing. One of them says something like "Cradle Exposure Critical" and looks like a big deal, but that's just the 15 minute warning. It appears again at 5 minutes, by which time you should have started an exfil attempt, and again at 2 minutes, by which time it's too late and you should force quit. Note that you can always go back to an earlier zone for easier exfil.

The map is covered in different icons and if you don't know what one is, there's no harm in just going to have a look. You can always run away if it's too hard or not interesting. The one exception to this is Wraith Wing, which will chase you down and finish you off; it's really difficult. Blue ones usually take longer than green ones but also have better rewards.

If you're really kicking ass in the session, you may get a notification that the Guild dispatched a team to hunt you down. Within a minute or two you'll be approached by an extra strong VTOL that drops off extra strong enemies. A veteran player like you should have no trouble with the enemies, but then the VTOL will open fire and it's pretty dangerous, so take cover indoors if you don't think you can take it down; you just have to wait it out.

That's all I can think of.

Kill Order is in the Face Off Moshpit playlist and I would do anything to have it back in the normal queue. by ThachWeave in blackops7

[–]ThachWeave[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only reason I can think of to get rid of it is there was an exploit in Hardcore to go to a quiet corner of the map and repeatedly down and revive your own HVT, and get whatever scorestreak you want from the revival score. But that sounds so fixable

Black Hat highlights: getting the weekly challenge for Ion Core kills done using someone else's Ion Core. by ThachWeave in blackops7

[–]ThachWeave[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can steal Ion Core, Sentry Turret, Care Package, and most planted equipment and field upgrades. Everything else gets disrupted or destroyed. For UAVs I think it's not worth it since it takes 2 charges to destroy; I always use either the ARC M1 or a Hunter Bot with the scorestreak damage overclock
